Wolfgang Nicol, born April 9, 1823 in Neidhardswinden, Bavaria, the son of Johann Leonhard Nicol (born April 13, 1788 in Neidhardswinden – died March 19, 1870 in Union County, Ohio) and Margaretha Billman (born October 20, 1793 in Siedelbach – died January 22, 1854 in Neidhardswinden)

Wolfgang Nicol - Family 1 – Anna Eichler (or Anna Nicolin) born May 19, 1845 in Zweifelsheim, the daughter of Wolfgang Nicol and Anna Kunigunda Eichlerin (born March 3, 1824 in Zweifelsheim – died December 24, 1887 in Zweifelsheim). Anna Eichler (Nicolin) married Johann Adam Hertlein. Anna died June 17, 1923 in Mausdorf by Emskirchen.

In 1856 Johann Leonhard Nicol and three of his children (Katharina Margaretha (with three children); Wolfgang, age 32; and Barbara, age 19) went to America. Johann’s son Johann Georg Nicol had already gone to America in 1852. Many of this Nicol family settled in Union County, Ohio.

Wolfgang Nicol – Family 2 – Wolfgang Nicol married Maria Selner on July 25, 1856 in Butler County, Ohio. Wolfgang Nicol died December 27, 1871 in Butler County and is buried in Pioneer Cemetery in Middletown.
