      <title>Manuel, Francisco Nicolau from Azores</title>
      <link>http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.nicolaus/7/mb.ashx</link>
<description>I am looking for my great grandfather, Francisco NICOLAU (also spelled NICOLAUS) born in the Azores May 1842. I don't know which island. His father is Manuel NICOLAU; his mother is Sabastiana CONSTANTINA. He immigrated to New York about 1862 and lived in Brooklyn, NY. He was a sailor. He married Mary Pettit in 1866 in Brooklyn, NY. If anyone knows about the surnames NICOLAU or CONSTANTINA, or if the surname NICOLAU or CONSTANTINA is commonly found on any specific island, I would like to know. This would give me a place in the Azores where I could begin to research the records. Thank you, Patricia &lt;br&gt;</description>
