I am a great granddaughter of Lillian Mae Norwood LeBourveau Schinkel. You would be my cousin. My mother was Marnelle Mercedes Hollingshead Hughes (Ethel Irene's daughter, she was raised by Idella Marie LeBourveau Cramsie). I knew your grandfather. He would stop and stay at our house in SF when he needed to go to the Southern Pacific Hospital. Jack Norwood also stayed from time to time (he was a Southern Pacific Railroad detective). My name is Joan Marie Hughes Amsler. Were you at the 80th birthday party for Lillian (Mom) in 1948? It would be nice to find out more about this side of my family. I recognize the name Kempsky. Hope to hear from you soon. Joann

I would appreciate any information you have to share about the parents of Frances Almira Nidever. We don't have any information about that branch of the family.

Please let me know if there are other lines mentioned in my note about which you would like to know more.

Re: Nidever

I'm a great-great-grandson of Frances Almira Neidever, born in Arkansas February 17, 1843. Her parents may have been Jacob Neidever and Polly Willoughby, married in Orange County, Indiana on May 16, 1832, but that's a guess. She and Andrew Jackson Norwood bore Lillian Mae Norwood May 6, 1868 in Arkansas. She died October 16, 1920, in Palo Cedro, Shasta County, California.

Lillian Mae was living in Santa Rosa (census records) in 1880, when she would have been 12. Lillian Mae married Charles Edwin LeBourveau (often spelled Lebourveau)who was born in June 1855 in Montreal, Canada. We have no date or place of death for Charles Edwin LeBourveau. They had 8 children: Albert Benjamin, Annie Belle, Idella Marie (born March 8, 1888; d. Nov. 8, 1972 in San Mateo, CA), Frank Roy (my maternal grandfather, born Nov. 1, 1889, CA and died June 26, 1861 in Butte, CA), Edith Jane, Ethel Irene, Archie Elmore and Dewitt Wiley ("Bevo")(born August 24, 1896 in Dana, Yuba Co., CA and died Dec. 9, 1947, we think in Nevada City, CA).

She died September 14, 1954, in Marysville.

If you google Andrew Jackson Norwood you can readily find the records of his family back to the early 1600s in England.

If you want more information about the descendants of Frank LeBourveau, let me know.

nkempsky@jps.net
