My grandfather's name was Anton Peter Cristian Petersen. He emigrated to New York from Denmark in December, 1906. He listed his birthplace as Kolding and his birthdate is 12-6-1881. His father is listed as Thomas Petersen and mother Marie Lund. He may have been in the Royal Lifeguard. He married Amanda Fredrikke Andrea Nielsen in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1907. Amanda emigrated at the same time as Anton. Amanda's mother is listed as Bodil Marie Carlsen and her father is Hans Peter Nielsen. She also listed her birthplace as Kolding and her brithdate is 4-8-1883. They eventually settled in Ionia, Michigan. Amanda may have been adopted. I believe that both of these familes had a large number of children. Any help you can give me in finding my ancestors would be greatly appreciated.
