Service: A Mass of Christian burial for Glenadine Boecker, 82, of Kingston, Oklahoma and formerly of Graettinger will be 10:30 a.m., Monday March19th, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. Burial will be at St. Jacob’s Catholic Cemetery, Graettinger.
Visitation: The family will greet friends from 2 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Joyce – Alesch Funeral Home where there will be a vigil service at 4:30 p.m. Joyce-Alesch Funeral Home of Graettinger is handling the arrangements.
Glenadine Mable was born April 17, 1924, on the family farm near Graettinger. She was the daughter of George and Rachel (Holte) Nielson. She attended Graettinger Community School. On April 18, 1942, Glenadine was united in marriage to Thomas Boecker in the Dakota’s. The couple made their home near Graettinger, Iowa where they raised their five children. They farmed around Palo Alto County before moving to the family farm in 1954. Glenadine was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, baking and playing bingo. Her favorite pastimes were quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. On Tuesday, March 12, Glenadine Boecker passed away at the Texoma Manner in Kingston, OK. She was 82. She is survived by four children: Tom (Betty) of Kingston, Oklahoma, Bernadine Hoose of Melvin, Iowa, Steve (Char) of Sioux Falls, SD and Gary (LeAnn) of Graettinger, Iowa; a brother, Kenneth “Bud” Nielson of Spencer, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; son, Robert; one grandson and one granddaughter; and her son-in-law.
