My grandfather was Arvo (archie) Niemi, all my father really knows is that his grandparents came over to Ellis island before 1912, because my grandfather was born in 1912, in Minnesota. My father has a half brother from the same father named Dale Thomas Niemi, we believe the original name was Nieminen, and shortened to Niemi after moving to the US. His father traveled on the west coast, and from what we know had a few more children, and died in Washington. His body was sent back to where we live (NY) and buried here.

I'm just trying to find out the names of my great grandparents, and maybe get some more knowledge of my father's side of the family..

I have pictures of him, but thats really all I know of him, I don't even have a middle name :/
