I`m looking for my grandfathers family roots he live in Yauco P.R in the late 1886 to 1940 his name was Bautista Nieves,he was married to my mothers mom and her name was Josefa Escabor also from Yauco P.R. she past away about ten or so yrs. ago they had there children together my mothers name is Amelia Nieves, my aunt`s name is Sonia nieves, i also have a uncle by the name Tito Nieves(not the singer).also i have a other grandfather that is name was Gaualupe Nieves he was married to Julia Albino they also are from Yauco P.R. y knowledge of my mothers family history is very limited. All I have is what follows. All are supposedly from Moca. Gracielda 'Euesbia' Hernandez-Ramos born 1912. Her parents Baselisa(sp)Hernandez-Hernandez & Esiekel(sp) Hernandez. Telesforo ramos born 1906. His parents Isabela Nieves-Ramos & Manuel Ramos. His paternal grandfather was Marcelino Ramos. To my understanding both Manuel and Marcelino owned a good deal of land in Moca.

I know this might come acroos as a bit confusing, but it was the only way I know how to get it across.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Isaac Michael Nieves, 20, of Unadilla, N.Y., died April 8, in Bani Saad, Iraq, when individuals using an improvised explosive devise and small arms fire attacked his combat patrol. Spc. Nieves was assigned to the Army’s 82nd Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Bamberg, Germany.

The incident is under investigation.

It seems that the majority of the people who post in here are Nieves from PR, but I'm looking for Nieves family in or around Hidalgo, MX (or just Mexico in general).

One in particular would be my grandmother in law, my husband's father's side. Her name is Higinia Nieves, she had a son with M. Angeles; his name is Luis I. Angeles and born somewhere around 1951-1952 in Hidalgo, MX.

Luis Angeles Nieves married a woman named Teresa Castro Herrera, they had 3 sons together. Luis Demetrio Angeles-Castro, born Sept 15 1976, Jose Angeles-Castro, who died at 8 months, and Juan Francisco Angeles Castro, who is my husband and born in 1983. This was all in Mexico City, or DF.

My husband's grandfather Bernardino Nieves Maldonado b. 20 Mayo 1912, Aguadilla, PR was one of several children of Cristino Nieves and Sebastiana Maldonado. Looking for any info on Bernardino's parents. FYI Bernrdino was called NINO. His brother's and sisters names are Monsa, Mercedes, Antonia, Luis, Rogelio, Ana and I know their's more but don't have the paper with their name on it. Rose died during or very shortly after the birth, and my grandfather gave her up to be raised in an orphanage, where she stayed till adulthood. Trying to find where my grandmother is buried

Hi,
I am trying to find out where my grandmother is buried. It would mean a lot to me and my father. The only information that I have is that her name is Juanita Nieves (Vargas is her maiden name) and that she died in Newark, New Jersey which I believe was due to a heart problem. She is buried somewhere in Newark and I know I have family over there that I cannot contact. If anyone knows any information as to how I can find out where she is buried and knows anyone, please let me know. I also know that she died probably late 1950's to the early 1960's. This has been something that has been bothering the family for awhile. Thanks!!

Wanting to trace relatives of Luisa Nieves who married Alvino Porras in mid-late 1800's.

I am the daughter of Manuel Francisco Nieves Benliza. My brother's name is Sergio Rolando Nieves. We are 25 and 33 years old, respectively. Our father has passed away and we are very interested in knowing any other relatives. Dad worked for the Imparcial en Puerto Rico as "corrector de periodico" for many years. He studied at Sagrado Corazon. His father, my grandfather's name was Manolin Nieves Rivera, he also worked as a journalist for the local paper in PR. He had two brothers, one by the name of Carlos Nieves Rivera who studied in Harvard and the other by the name of Rafael Nieves Rivera who worked as a "catedratico" for the University of Puerto Rico for many years until his death.
