I received the birth reg (b. 1873, Boltonof my great grandmother, Sarah Ellen Scholes, yesterday. Her mother was Ellen Nightingale. I have Ellen E from family papers and I have Ellen from the 1881 census, born in 1846, Turton, ( Bolton), with her husband, Henry Scholes and their first two children, Sarah and Benjamin.
The IGI on-line has Ellen Elizabeth NIghtingale, christened Jan 2 1846, father Joshua, mother is Catherine. I found Ellen Elizabeth on the FreeBMD site, born Chorley, bet. Jan-Mar 1846, vol, 21 page 203. I think it is the same person, my 2 x grandmother. Does any of this fit in with any of your lineage?
