John J. Nicka is the Son of Johann Nika(Nika) and Maria Wolfel. He also had a sister Marie who died in childbirth or soon thereafter. John's Father and Mother were from Austria, Johann being from Burganland and Maria from Eisenzieken(sp?)

John J. Nicka, beloved husband of the late Eleanore A., nee Prack; loving father of Robert (Sharon) Nicka, Rosemary (Milo) Umlauf, Joan (late Richard) Mrowczynski, Richard (Elizabeth) Nicka and Kenneth Nicka; fond grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of five; dear brother of Eleanore (late Stan) Marek; uncle of many nieces and nephews; cousin and friend of many. Funeral Wednesday, 11 a.m. from the Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd. to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. 773-767-4500.

I'm trying to find information on my great-grandmother's family. All I have is that her parents were Joseph NIKA and Sophie MESZAROS, both of Kormend, Vas, HUNGARY. They had the following children:

Lajos ("Louis") NIKA. Lajos went to the Russian front in WWI and never returned.

Rosalia NIKA b. 19 Aug 1884 Rabaszentmihaly, Gyor, HUNGARY d. 17 Jul 1973 Marshall, Harrison Co., TX md. 6 Apr 1907 Frederick "Fritz" HEINEMANN b. 26 May 1882 Pecs, Baranya, HUNGARY d. 18 Apr 1976 Marshall, Harrison Co., TX. These are my great-grandparents.

Daniel NIKA md. Therese. Know children: Erzsl NIKA b. about 1944 and Ilonka NIKA b. about 1948.

Ferenc ("Frank") NIKA md. Roszi. Roszi was living in Budapest in 1974.

Anna NIKA md. Lajos KAZAR. Know child: Joseph KAZAR.
