Peter born 30 Jun 1849 came to US abt 1871. Obit says his mother was Christina, and Father Peter. Came with brother John oldest son of Christina and Peter from Tunne or Tuna or similar sound. He had two half brothers Andrew and Carl and half sister Charlotte. He married Eliza J Donley and they had 4 children born in Medina, OH. Peter changed his name to Phallen. Can anyone help me? Looking for info about Andrew Peter Nelson (Swedish spellings apply I'm sure, i.e. Anders Petter Nilsson, Johan Fredrik Nilsson...), father to John Fredrick Nelson, b: 6 Oct. 1853 (possibly 1854) in Sweden (Kloster?). They immigrated to the US sometime between 1853-4 and 1875 when John's first child was born 25 Aug. John married Matilda Charlotte Erikson (Mathilda Charlotta Eriksson or Andersdotter), b: 22 Apr. 1860. John was my G-G-Grandfather. Surname was changed from Nelson/Nilsson to Hullquist on the voyage to the states (supposedly).

On Feb. 10, 1872 Jan married Stina Cajsa Hindriksdotter in Garpenberg. Jan and Stina had my ggrandfather, Karl Erik Nilsson b. May 2, 1874 in Caspersbo, Garpenberg.

Jöns (b. 1. Jan 1860 in Näsum, Skåne, Sweden) and Håkan Nilsson (b. 26. Sep 1863 in Näsum) are the children of Nils Håkansson (b. 5. Jul 1825; d. 10. Apr 1903 in Näsum) and Karin Nilsdotter (b. 26. Jan 1822; d. 3. Mar 1877 in Näsum).

I couldn't find any information about marriages, children or even their deaths so it's possible that they left Skåne or even Sweden.

My gg grandfather Johan Nilsson was born September 5, 1832 in Sunne, Varmland, Sweden. On February 10, 1872 he married my gg grandmother Stina Cajsa Hindriksdotter, born May 16, 1831 in Kroppa, Varmland. Their son Karl Erik Nilsson (my great grandfather) was born May 2, 1874 in Caspersbo. The information I'm looking for now is: Johan was married earlier and had three children:

Looking for Kajsa Nilsdotter's brothers:

Kajsa Nilsdotter, born 1836 Jul. 3 in Fiskaretorpet, By parish, Värmland Co. Fiskaretorpet was a croft belonging to a farm called Norra Skane.

Father: Nils Hansson, born 1811 Aug. 8, Alster parish, Värmland Co.
Mother: Lisa Olofsdotter, born 1812 Feb. 19, Södra Ny parish, Värmland Co.

Nils and Lisa were married in 1835 and moved to Kyrketorp in Huggenäs parish, Värmland Co. in 1836. In 1837, Nils Hansson joined the army and moved to a soldiers’ croft in Östra Uggelsäter, Huggenäs. He was soldier No. 42 and received the soldier name of Uggelqvist.

They had the following children after Kajsa:

Olof b. July 22, 1840
Nils b. Dec. 11, 1843
Anders b. Feb. 21, 1850
Johannes b. April 12, 1853

From the 1840s, Nils Hansson Uggelqvist is listed as retired with the comment ”receives pension from Strömsholm Canal Company, 12 Riksdaler ”. As a soldier, he was probably commanded to take part in the digging of the canal at Strömsholm, Västmanland county. It also says that he had a ”work permit” for Norway in 1853.

Kajsa was confirmed in 1850 and moved to a place called Tolerud of the farm Carlslund in Huggenäs parish in 1852, to serve as a farm maid.

Her brothers Nils, Olof & Anders moved to Norway & then to the USA

Other brother Johannes stayed in Sweden( I think??)-married
Anna Lisa Jansdotter & had two sons David(bn 1879) & Karl Jonathan(bn 1881)

David Tornqvist married Tulla Carolina Tornqvist- their daughter was Ulla Margarete Tornqvist-BN 1920)= married Erik Ingvar Pettersen (bn in Norberg 1913)

I am Tonya Oldfather grand-daughter of Edith Louis (Blacksmith)Oldfather. I am searching for more information of Isak Nilsson and his wife Sara Nilsdotter. These would be my gr, gr, gr, gr Grandparents. I know that Isak was born in 1725 to Nils and his wife in Oppeby Parish in Sweden. Sara Nilsdotter was born in 1729 in the same place. They lived at Nedra Vanga. It said they had 1 son Carl. It is said here in our fam. book that during Isak and Sara's lifetime that the Oppeby Church (now standing) was erected and they, without a doubt did their share of work to bring their long anticipated plans into effect....now what this meant to me is either they 1. helped build this church. 2. was owners of the church or even 3. was like a priest or what not of the church. (or I'm totally wrong)

I am also very curious to the lives the lead, and what type of religion they were under. When I was researching the Oppeby church it was said to have all kind of runes around and by this church. Now from what I understand these would be Nordic runes, would this make there "religion" of Nordic decent or something?.

Emigrated to USA 1887-06-17 together with her
brother Johan August Nilsson, born 1864-11-06
same place as Augusta. They were destined for
Minneapolis.
Johan/John Nelson is found in Census 1900-1930
in Minnesota/Hennepin/Minneapolis. First at
Franklin Av, then 15th Av south and then Blommington.
He married Ida M from Sweden and they got a son Clarence born 1906.
I haven’t found Augusta anywere, probably married and changed her last name.

Looking for confirmation/further info that this Elna m. John Olander in 1885 are the parents of Emma Olander b. 1888 Wisconsin m1. Gustave Thalheim m2. Frank Romero d. 1978 Montanna. Emma moved to Idaho w/ husband Gustave (where he registered for the WWI Civilian Draft in Bannock County) and three sons to be near her brother (name unknown but possibly Charles Fred b. 1885 Wisconsin reg. WWI Draft Bannock Idaho d. 1944 Washington)she then divorced and remarried. Following the new marriage her three sons were placed in an orphanage in Idaho and adopted by David and Elizabeth Neibaur.

Grandma Brita Lindsay was born in Offerdal, Jamtland, Sweden, Aug 25, 1886. Her father was Jon Nilsson, born in Offerdal, Sep 6, 1848, christened Oct 1848. He emigrated to Canada in 1888. He changed his name to Jon N. Berglund and died in Stockholm, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1896. His parents were Nils Olofsson and Brita Olofsdotter. (Who were his grandparents?) At one time he owned timberland/farmland near Offerdal - Aspas. His first wife was Brita Goransdotter; they had 5 children: 3 boys, 2 girls. The girls and mother died of scarlet fever. He married Karin Ersdotter and had 2 girls and one boy. Any relatives out there? Thank you.

Hi am searching for any information on Sven Nilsson. His parents names are Nils Svensson and Karna Jonsdotter. Sven was born 27th October 1948 Ossjo, Kristianstad county and married Petronella Persdotter they had 5 children. Sven and family immigrated to New Zealand in 1884 but from stories that I have heard his brothers and sisters may have immigrated to America. My ancestors come from Kville parish, Bohuslän, Sweden. I have been unable to trace the line beyond Olof Nilsson, b. 8 Jul 1836, married to Sara Olsdotter, b. 22 May 1839. From http://proband.slaktdata.org I have very good info after that time, that matches information from my family. But I have been unable to go further backward ( I believe older parish records were destroyed by a church fire).

I appreciate any additional info...

BTW, children of Olle and Sara include Elisabet, Nestor, Aron, Aron (II), Otto (my g-grandfather), and a stillborn daughter. All born 1866 to 1883, in Rörvik, Kville församling, Bohuslän, Sweden.

Trying to obtain information regarding my great-grandmother, MARIT NILSSON/NILSD., who immigrated to the U.S. from either Norway or Sweden in 1898. She changed her name to Mary Anderson (marrying on or around 1891) as recorded in church birth records for my grandmother, ANNA MINNIE AMANDA (Lake Park, Becker Co., MN).

Marit is said to have been born on May 27, 1861 in ROROSE, SWEDEN...but have been unable to locate such a place. Because the family is in possession of a medal award to Marit for her fine sewing (from Jämtlands Läns County in Sweden), it's possible her place of birth was actually RØROS, NORWAY since it's just to the west of Jämtlands.

My grandmother was born in Lake Park, MN in 1898, so she would have resided in this area or perhaps in neighboring North Dakota. I've been able to find her on the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records only because she married in 1905 to an OLE M. VOLDEN in Detroit Lakes, MN.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated. She's been a major brick wall for me!

It's especially important to me now as I've married and now reside in a neighboring county in Sweden. :)

I'm helping a friend to find a relative, Per Johan Edvin Nilsson, born 1 April 1905 in Fianberg, Vilhelmina. He immigrated to Canada in 1924. They have an address to him from 1972 (!) and he then stayed in Ucluelet, British Columbia.

She wants to find him (his family) as he has money to receive after distribution of an estate here in Sweden.

We know that many Swedes changes their names to a more american name so it might be that he called himself something else, e.g. Edwin or Nelson...

We have are interested about the fact if he did have a family also in the States. He was born 1897 and his name was Hjalmar Nestor Nilsson.
Of course he could have used another name Jake Nelson, etc.
My mother's brothers were also in the states at the same time. Their name was Wuolle. But also they came back to Finland. Only Edith Wuolle stayd in the States. To my knowledge my father was staying in NY.

PEMBERTON, N.J.-Wayne A. Nilsson, 60, a former local resident, died of
cancer Friday at the Virtua Memorial Hospital. Born in Haverhill, Mass., he
was the son of the late Regnar E. and Vivian E. (Cheney) Nilsson. He attended
school in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill Trade School in 1960. He
served in the Navy as a sonar technician from 1961 to 1965. From Haverhill,
he and his family moved to New Hampshire and then to New Jersey, where
they lived for the past six years. In Pemberton, he organized the T & W
Delivery service. He was a member of the VFW in Franklin, the Eagles Aire
No. 613 in Concord and the American Legion in both Concord and
Pemberton. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen (Lamb) Nilsson; two
sons, Eric R. Nilsson of Pittsfield and Todd M. Nilsson of Pemberton, N.J.; a
daughter, Stacey M. Duquette of Pittsfield; two brothers, Edwin Nilsson of
Kingston and Brian Nilsson of Willington, Fla.; a sister, Marilyn Dailey of
Hampton; six grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be
held tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home,
148 Main St., Haverhill, Mass. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 at
the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Kingston.

I am looking for relatives of Marten Nilsson, born in Gaxsjo, Jampland, Sweden in 1887. He married Anna Eriksson and emmigrated to Canada in 1911 and settled in Whitewood, or Percival, Saskatchewan. I do not know what family Marten had in Sweden other than his own wife and children, one of whom is my father. Children Nels, Eric, Franz, Anna and Saga were all born in Sweden. Robert and John were born in Canada.

I am trying to find out more about my great grandfather Gerton Nilsson. I know little about him, other than he emigrated to America with his daughter, Anna Sophia Gertonsson (my grandmother) and 5 sons (of whom I know nothing about). His wife, Mathilda Matsson, daughter of Fodd Matsson, died in 1903 (in Sweden.)

Henning born1893--Helge born 1893--Emil born 1885--Gottfrid
date of birth unknown

Mother was Alida Karolina Nilsdotter born in 1859 was first married to farmer and had 7 children then married Edvin Nilsson with whom she had my fathers family. 12 children in all.
She was born in Kvistdala and lived in Uggletorp in 1916

when my father came to the Usa he first went to live in Chicago and ended up in Iowa where he was murderes in 1940.
He was a farmer in Iowa but i don't know what his occupation was in Chicago
His brother John came over and he ended up in Iowa where he farmed also

Anders was my Grandfather, b. Sept 21, 1858, but I have no more information on locality. He married Anna Maria Andersdotter, b. Feb. 3, 1866, in Fabbemala, Ramdala Parish, Blekinge, Sweden. My relatives left for germany 1869 do not know if they moved from there, they are son's to Nils Peter lindblom and Anna Mansdotter. They left Sweden 1869, and Nils Peter left for USA 1870 Any one have any informations about them?

Peter Magnus Nilsson,
b. June 3, 1863, left for Waco, Texas Sept. 14, 1888.

Johan Nilsson
b. October 8, 1871, left Sweden 1897

Nils Anton Nilsson
b. April 12, 1879, went to Clifton, Texas March 24, 1897
aboard the steamship, "Cameo" landing in Hull, England and from there we have no idea how he arrived in the states.

Family members who followed were, Mathilda Nilsdotter, Bina Nilsdotter, and Elise Nilsdotter. All believed to have settled in Texas.
