Classification: Query
I am trying to find anyone who may have family information on JD (the J could be John or Jehu the D is believed to be for Donaldson) and Sarah A. NIXON.
They lived in the Osborne and Levenworth areas of Kansas
from approx. 1850 on and are buried in the Cheyenne County Cemetary in Kansas. There ia a DAR star on the tree stump marking the place Sarah is buried, not sure who was in the Revolutionary war for her to have it.
They had three children AMOS WILLIAM NIXON deceased in 1879 from TB or Consumption. NANCY JANE NIXON, was 17 in 1880 census, living at homme w/ bronchitis. ELIZABETH ANN NIXON (LOVIN) PUTNEY (my great Grandmother) is also back at home in 1880 with a daughter ROSE, age 1, after her first husband JOHN LOVIN and his mother SARAH LOVIN are killed in the Shedd's Prarie fire of 1880.
I cannot determine where these NIXON's came from or who their families are. We do not know what happened to NANCY if she died young or married.
I am hoping someone out there has lost a JD NIXON in their family line and can help me locate his family. I believe JD NIXON was born in Penn. in 1834 or 1835. Both of his parents were listed as born in Penn. as well.
Sarah is born in Illinois in 1840 or 1841, both of her parents are listed as being born in Ohio. Her maiden name could possibly be LOVINE, AMOS headstone reads son of JD and SA "LOVINE" NIXON.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED:
