My name is Joe Nobbs I was born in Warrington Hospital To Annie Eliza Nobbs, Wife of Arthur Nobbs.
My father had one brother John Nobbs (known as Jack) They were brought up by aunt Precilla, their mother having died in childbirth with Arthur. I do not know eithe my paternal Grandmother or Grandfather's names.
My mother was the daughter of Arthur Herbert Grocot Page who I believe originated from Wem in Shropshire and Sarah Lucy Wells born in Earlestown, Newton-le -Willows.
My mother had a brother John Page who died recently.
My Uncle John had one daughter Beryl Elizabeth Nobbs who married a Barlow and was subsequently divirced and I have lost touch with her, I believe she had one son.
There were also branches of the Nobbs family in Croft (near Winwick), but I know nothing of them.
I would be happy to hear from anyone who can extend my knowledge.
As a child I remember seeing a picture of my great great Grandfather in some kind of uniform with a star like badge on his left breast.
