Scotland - Possible Ramsay - Nobel Family Connection

Would appreciate knowing if anyone associated with Nobel family has any record of this family being connected to Ramsays in Scotland. Have not been able to trace my G-GF James Deglish Ramsay who immigrated to Texas in about 1866. A note was found in which a family member reported visiting with a cousin named Nobel (Noble?) in Edinburg during or after WWII - the address had been scribbed down as 14 crescent - Edinburg 4, Scotland - another name scribbled on the note was Blinkbonny. This is really a stretch trying to find someone. Given the "thousands" of persons named James in Scotland and several different birthdates given for him - we have just about lost all hope of tracing our Scottish ancestors. Thanks, Catherine

Re: William Alexander Nobel

William Alexander Nobel is a brother to my great-great grandfather, Franz Joseph Nobel (b. 1 Oct 1837 in Liebsdorf, Alsace, France.) They are the sons of Franz Joseph Nobel and Magdelina Mueller. The brothers lived together in Cincinnati in 1860. The parents did not immigrate to the US. William is listed as Alexander when he married Mary A. Burlbach in Franklin Co, Indiana in 1864. In 1869, Alexander and Mary had a son, Frank J., baptized in Cincinnati at St. Paul's church. In 1870, Alexander was living in Darke County, Ohio. In 1880, he was in Farmington, MO. My great-great grandfather remained in Cincinnati and is buried here.
I am interested in knowing more about William Alexander Nobel's descendants.

Noble connection with Gibbons

I would like to locate anybody doing any research on the Noble surname. This surname should also be connected with the surname of Gibbons. The area of searching would be in the Granville, Mass. area. The time frame would be connected to around 1750.
I have found the name of Miss May C. Noble included the L.D.S. films of the Granville Vital Records, film # 2031549 and the Cogrgational Church records East Granville from 1739 to 1861, film # 0234566. In these records there is a foot note stating that Miss. May C. Noble is in possession of the Gibbons Family Bible.
I do not know the time frame when the information was included onto the L.D.S. films. I am guessing that this info about her having the Bible is a lot more recent than the info on the films.
There is another surname that I am interested in that might be registered in that Bible.
Please contact me by email.
Thank you.
John Fennell

Sophia b about 1786. mother of NOBEL Festus IRISH b Ontario

This is such a long shot, but lets try.

I have Sopia born in the US about 1786. She married Daniel IRISH who was UEL. They lived in Haldimand, Northumberland Ontario in Centreton and are buried in Massey Hill Road Cemetery near Grafton. The only other data I have is that she is "Eastern Methodist"

We have no other information about her family. There are some Nobel families in the same area. Even in the same cemetery. It is odd as a first name. Could NOBEL be her surname used as the given name of her son, Nobel Festus IRISH There are family patterns of using surnames as middle names. .

while visiting a cemetary with old family graves here in wisconsin i noticed a partial headstone for a moses nobel who died april 2nd 1802. there was also a stone buried 95 percent in the dirt with it. this is not family of mine to my knowledge but seeing this marker reduced to rubble saddened me and i wanted to make him knowen before the stone no longer could. if anyone is interested i will be happy to provide photos and location.
