Susan Noe

Hi,

I have been researching family lines of Susan Noe and Andrew J. Rogers for YEARS, without much luck. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Susan Noe was born in Kentucky in November 1866. I think this was in Clay County, Kentucky. On 15 Apr 1888 she married Andrew J. Rogers who was also born in Clay County KY in June 1865.

Susan and Andrew moved to Liberty Indiana and also lived around Oxford Ohio for a while. They had at least 8 children. Their children were George (b 1889); Bettie (b. 1890); Bertha (b. 1891); Rose (b. 1893); Ruth (b. 1995); Ross (b. 1899) and Marie Elsie Rogers (b. 12 May 1902). Marie Elsie was my grandmother.

As I said, I know very little about this branch of my family. I've got just one tiny picture of three people -- I think this is of Susan Noe and two of her daughters. Attached is this picture.

I would just love to hear from anybody why has any additional information! Do any of their children still live in the Liberty Indiana/Hamilton Ohio area?

Many Thanks. Gerri
After reading several new postings about the Noe family..I am confused about my Noe line descended from Isaac..in New Jersey in this country. This week I was told there is a book for sale on this line from a fellow researcher ..on disk.. and I have sent for one. He may be able to solve some of the problems and connections but if Noe researchers of this line could contact me about the Piere Noe connection to Isaac, I would appreciated the help.. andace@bellsouth.net

DNA

We are looking for someone who is descended from Pierre--positively, to do a DNA test. I, and my cousin, are descended from Abraham Noe b. ca. 1755 d. 1803. He was married to Hannah Dennis. We have all kinds of circumstantial evidence that Abraham was a son of Isaac, but have nothing concrete. We know Jean (John-son of Pierre) was the father to Isaac, but not sure of all of Isaac's children. My first cousin has taken the DNA test and we have the results. I've also checked results on other sites, but there is no matches. So if someone fits the above criteria could they please contact me. Thanks.

Ilene

Sarah Witherow

Hi Noe/Lowe descendants. I am a Witherow/Withrow researcher, descending from Sarah's father, John Witherow. John is believed to have been born in PA ca 1776 and m. Sarah Unknown; he migrated to Cabell/Wayne VA ca 1818. He appears in census records for Cabell in 1820. He and son Robert purchased land on 12 Pole Creek in what is now Wayne Co. WV on 10 June 1821. He married the widow of Job Lambert, Hannah Rice Lambert, on 1 Oct 1818 in Cabell Co. In 1827 he sold part of the land to David and Thomas Moore and moved on to Kentucky, leaving dau Sarah behind since she had married Carr Lowe (later Noe). According to Cabell marriage records Carr married Sarah, "Sarry" as she is referred to in some record books, 30 Dec 1827 in Cabell Co. There may also have been a brother who stayed in Cabell as well: David Withrow. He is carried as a blind pauper and is found being cared for by Jeremiah Lambert, son of Hannah and Job. (Cabell Overseers to the Poor). He is listed on the 1850 census with Jeremiah. The last record I have of Sarah and Carr is in 1880 living with daughter and son-in-law Thomas F. Napier. Civil War service records state that Carr was in Co. F of Ferguson's Battalion, 16thVA Cavalry, as were sons William, Nathaniel, and Harvey. I'm specifically interested as to why the name was changed from Lowe to Noe and in finding how Carr is connected to other early Lowe's in the Cabell/Wayne area (siblings? parents?). Any information appreciated. Thanks! Rebecca

Saren Noe of Rush Co. IN

There is in the Rush County, Indiana deed records, a deed dated Nov. 9, 1848 for Saren A. Noe, "and Nancy Jane, his wife". I know of two Saren Noes in Rush County, but neither had a wife named Nancy Jane, at least not in 1848. Most of the Rush County Noes are descendants of Andrew Noe (ca. 1760-1836). The two I can identify are Saren (1792-1861) with wife Polly Collins, and Saren (ca. 1820-pre 1881) with wife Harriet Kelso. The third Saren Noe must also be a descendant of Andrew, since the name derives from the name of Andrew's wife's mother (Searing), but I cannot figure out who his father could be. Can anyone help me?

David Hudson

BABY GRAVES WITHOUT NAMES. HELP ME GIVE THEM A NAME. NOE/HAMPTON

I need help in locating names for two baby graves in the SNOW/NOE cemetery. My sister is 77 years old and she thinks they belong to a Victoria Hampton. Victoria was a Noe but have information that she married a JOHN HENRY HAMPTON, Victoria lived with my Grandmother for a while, i think her parents died when she was very young. I have a lot of information on the Noe,s that are burried there. We decorate the babies graves each year and wonder if someone is trying to find them. Victoria was born 1 aug 1882 and i have information she married John Henry Hampton 19 Sept. 1914. The reason that my sister believe,s the babies are Victoria Noe Hampton is Her Father William thomas Noe is burried in the same cemetery. He married Lydia Porter i don,t know if she is burried there or not. We have information that refers to aunt lizzie so i don,t know if this could be Lydia or not. I have reason to believe 1 is a boy and 1 is a girl. Can you help give them a name. maggie

Hardin Co. Noes - Mack Wilson Noe

Husband is son of Mack Wilson Noe b- 14Dec1907 in Hardin, d-05Nov1983 (GP Felix M Noe and Amanda Noe, GGP Elijah Noe/Elizabeth Lawson and William B. Noe and Louise Lawson, both Elijah and William B. by GGGP Thomas Henry Noe and Martha Beadles).

Mack married Dorothy at 38 and I have been unable to account for him past 1920 census when he was 15. Rumor has it he might have been in the service - I can't find him in 1930 census. Husband has also wondered if he might have been married before his mother. Family dynamic hints that there was some great secret b/c his father had almost no contact with his family. Wondering if he has half-siblings out there somewhere.

Anyone who might recognize this name, would appreciate information.

Thanks,
anne

Noe of IL and ND

I am doing this for my cousin. His father's name was Albert Michael Brockman, but went by Mike. MIke's parents were Charles W. Brockman and Caroline Noe (Caroline's parents Michael Noe and Josphine Vogl) both born in IL with their parents b. in Germany. By 1910 the Brockman's were living in ND as were some of the Noe family. Know children of Charles and Carrie (Caroline) are Sylvia, William F., Lizzie M., Ella E., Albert Michael, and Dorothy L. Brockman. Believe William remained in ND. Albert Michael died in Everett, WA. If any of this sounds familiar, would love to hear from you. Sue

William B. Noe and Nancy Jeffries of Hardin Co., KY

Our Williamson line in Hardin Co., KY is connected with the Noe family. Nancy Bladen Vanmetre/Clark/Jeffries married William B. Noe on 22 Mar 1894. He was over 60 (b. 1832, KY) when he married Nancy, and he was her third husband. I found a Henderson County, KY newspaper article that said a William B. Noe from Calhoun Co., KY was a judge in 1905. Does anyone know if this is the same William B.? Or anything else about my William B. Noe?

Nancy and her relatives' lines have been worked out (50 pages worth!) as part of the larger Williamson family tree (www.williamsonfamily.info), but it's still a work in progress and has not yet been posted to the main tree. If you need additional info, please contact me.
