Peter was married to Guestine Noel (another Noel family line) on 16 Jan 1849 in Lacolle, PQ. They had children Cassimere, Moses and Edgar that I am aware of and possibly more. My name is Eric Johnson and I am currently researching my family history. In my family, my great grandfather was Colica Thisdale Noel born on Nov. 9, 1821 and died March 30, 1912. His wife was Melina Lambert born Oct. 15, 1854 and died June 28, 1943. They had a daughter, Delina (Possibly Delima) that was born in 1883 and died in 1927 but I don't know if the dates are exact or not. Her husband was Edward Carriveau. From what I have been told, Colica (Possible Caliste) came from Canada. I can't seem to find the family that he came from. Would anyone be able to help me with this? Has anyone heard of Caliste Noel? He was born Nov 1822 in Canada and was married twice. Once to an unknown. They had a son, Paul, who was born abt. 1842 in Canada and died in 1921 in Oconto Co., Wisconsin. Caliste's second marriage was to Melina Lambert. She was born in Oct 1954 in Canada and died abt. 1945 in Oconto Co., Wisconsin. They had two children, daughter Delina (my husband's great grandmother) and son Wilfrid. Caliste is found in the 1910 Census for Oconto County but he seems to disappear after that. Being 89 years old at the time of the census, he probably passed away, but we can find no records in Oconto or Canada. On Wilfrid's marriage record his name is listed as Euchariste. We are looking for info on his death date/place/burial and his parents/brothers/sisters, etc as far back as we can go. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated, we are really stuck! Thanks.

Searching for descendants of Bruce Walter Hoover and Elizabeth Clair Noel. Known children are John Wesley Hoover, Helen Marlyn Miguel and Patricia Doris Wade Noble.

Bruce Hoover was born in Hamburg, Iowa on March 5, 1888 (possibly March 6, 1894), he entered the service on May 1, 1917. During WWI he was a sergeant in the medical corps and died September 15, 1966 in Livermore, California.

Body of Victim Was Sunk In Illinois River

SALISAW, Okla., Oct.19-(Special)- Charges with the murder of
J.L. Job in Cherokee county Wednesday, Zack Noel, army deserter from this county, was apprehended last night at the home of his brother-in-law, Hannon Griffiths, two miles southeast of Vian.

Griffiths was arrested on a charge of harboring Noel. Both men were lodged in jail here.

With the top of his head blown off and a heavy stone tied about his neck, Job's body was found in the Illinois river Thursday. Acording to Sheriff Davidson of Cherokee county, who arrested the defendants, with the aid of Deputy Sheriff Brown, of Vian.

Noel was the last man seen with Job when the latter started for Arkansas on Wednesday to buy a load of apples. Job had $60.

Job's disappearance was discovered when his mule was found
wandering about. He was the father of ten children, and also leaves a widow.

Oral History - Western PA

There are several lines of Noel's from western Pennsylvania who do not know their family history before 1800 or so. I would like to collect all the different Oral Histories of the several Noel families whose lines were in Cambria and Westmoreland Counties, PA in the early 1800's. Send these to me, no matter how little or even if they were found to be in error, and I will post them on a Web Page for further study.

Example: The oral History of Joseph Noel was that he came from Baltimore, MD to Westmoreland County before 1800, was in the War of 1812, and his father Adam, and with his five brothers, were in the Revolutionary War, Adam being at Yorktown for the surrender of Cornwallis. Adams brothers were Joseph, Peter, Abraham, and Simon Noel. Another oral history from a Noel from Baltimore has the fifth brother as Sylvester but may not be in the same line.

Fact: Most of the Noel's if not all except Joseph moved from Westmoreland to Cambria County where there were already Noel's from Adams County, PA. Also Adams County Noel's moved into Westmoreland County at a later date. One family may have moved into a county north of Westmoreland.

Looking for information on the Noel's from East Tawas Mi. My grandfather was Stanley Noel and he had a twin brother Joseph. I also believe they had a sister Nina?
Don't know my great grand parents name but would love any information that is available.
Stanley married Alice Ostrander in June 1930 and Joseph married Loenia Herman in March of 1928 all in East Tawas.
I was able to get that much info from the county records.

John Brown purchased 125 acres of land from Silas M. Noel and his wife Maria Noel in Essex Co., VA, per a deed dated 10 Feb 1813. By that time, Silas lived in Franklin Co., KY. This land was near Hoskin's Creek, as well as near a mill/mill pond. I believe that I saw another record where a Henry Brown married a Noel woman from this same overall Noel family in 1795 in Cumberland Co., VA (she was born in 1777, as I recall). Does anyone know if that Henry Brown was related to the above John Brown? John had a brother (as well as some earlier relatives) named Henry, but I see no indication that the brother was in Cumberland Co., VA. John COULD have had a son named Henry, I suppose, but the only son who seems to have been "proven" was John Brown, Junior (who married Mary Bennett in Middlesex Co., VA in 1805). I do not know to whom John Brown, Senior was married. I believe that the will inventory that I found in 1824 for a John Brown in Essex was for this same man, but unfortunately, I could not find the will itself (so far, anyway)

There was a man named Buckingham Brown in the Essex Co., VA area, and his sons eventually moved to Cumberland Co., VA. I have never seen any evidence, however, that Buckingham Brown was related to the above John Brown (John seems to have been a descendant of Francis (died 1691 in Essex) and Elizabeth Brown.

Services for Thelma Gladys Noel, of 504 Depot Street, were held Monday, December 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Salyers officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)

Mrs. Noel, age 76, died Friday, December 21, at 10 05 p.m. in Caldwell County Hospital after a short illness. Her husband, Kayless Major Noel, died in 1987.

A native of Stearns, Ky, she was born March 5, 1914, the daughter of the late Simon and Hester Ramsey. Mrs. Noel was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and was a retired nurse at a nursing home.

Survivors include four sons, Kayless Edward Noel, James Dale Noel, Kenneth Noel, and Ronnie Noel, all of Princeton; six daughters, Carol Lowery, of St. Ann, Missouri, Doris Johnson, Wanda Patton, Yerevan Darnell, and Linda Marshall, all of Princeton, and Barbara Crisp, of Lakeland, Fla..

A son Charles Louard Noel, preceded her in death.

CHAZY LAKE — Roma M. Noel, 86, of Route 374, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at her home. She was born in Chazy Lake on March 2, 1916, daughter of Daniel L. and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Brooks) DuBrey.

Roma was a graduate of Lyon Mountain High School. She had been employed by the Delaware and Hudson Railroad as a shipping clerk and SUNY Plattsburgh as part of the cleaning crew. Roma was a member of Home Bureau, Catholic Daughters of America, Court of Our Lady of Snows and Lyon Mountain Senior Citizens.

She was a life-long member of St. Bernard’s Church in Lyon Mountain.
