Mr. Duvall Weston Noell, a 38-year veteran of the Durham Fire Department, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 1994, at Durham Regional Hospital, Durham, NC. He was 67.
Mr. Noell, of Rt. 2, Box 730, Ned Moore Road, Timberlake, NC, retired from the fire department in 1986 with the rank of captain.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Durham, NC, by the Rev. Crate Jones.
A native of Guilford County, NC, Mr. Noell was the son of the late Charles W. and Rosa Fisher Noell. He had lived in Durham most of his life and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith and was a volunteer in youth athletics programs.
Mr. Noell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marcella Surles Noell; a son, Mr. Rocky Duvall Noell of Durham; two daughters, Mrs. Laura N. Gray of Timberlake and Mrs. Cathy N. Hall of Creedmoor; a brother, Mr. Charles Homer Noell of Durham; a sister, Mrs. Fleta N. Maynard of Durham; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Hudson Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laura Gray, Rt. 2, Box 650, Timberlake.
Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3500 Westgate Drive, Suite 201, Durham 27707.
