My gggrandfather's middle name was Noffinger. Since this is such an unusual given name, was wondering if it had come from a family name. William Noffinger Carpenter was born in Indiana 23 Oct 1845, and his parents were Charles Carpenter & Frances Elsie Ann Daniel.
