I’m new to the Nolan list, and I’m trying to find some information on my great-grandmother, Julia Nolan Breese. She was born in Wisconsin abt 1864. My search, however, has come up with at least four Julia Nolans born in the state in that timeframe, and I’m not sure which one is her. I suspect it is Julia F. Nolan, whose family had relocated to Chicago by the time of the 1870 census. My reasoning is that my great-grandfather, Francis A. “Frank” Breese, was born and raised in Chicago, so that puts her in the same locale for them to meet and marry abt 1889. If I have the right Julia, her parents were William and Catharine, both born in Ireland abt 1836 and 1845 respectively. I have not been able to discover anything more about them, and neither appears in the 1900 census.

Whichever Julia it was, in 1896 she and Frank settled in Medaryville, Pulaski, Indiana. Between 1910 and 1918 they moved to Gary, Lake, Indiana. She died abt 1935, probably in Gary. She had 5 children – Harry L. (adopted), Julia (died as a child), Robert Alfred (my grandfather), William Stephen and Elvaretta.

If anyone can help me, even by eliminating one of the “Wisconsin Julias” from contention, I would be most appreciative.
