hello notice this is an old post but will give it a shot.
My grandfather was Fredrick Francis Nolde as far as can tell from family lore is that he came to this country from Germany shortly after WW1 but before the United States got into it as he supposedly jumped ship and quicklty went to Reading Pa. were he resided for sometime as well as marrying my grandmoter Ruth, very little else known but has been suggested that he may have been related to Jacob, Fredrick was born aprox. 1885 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My name is Mark Nolde and live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Both my grandfather and fathers names were Jacob Abraham Willem Nolde.

Could it be I m related?

Extraordinairy detail : I ve a passion for plants, gardening and so on.

Even more interesting : In the 80's I had the idea to create a forest in Oostvoorne, The Netherlands, with my cousins Sjaak, Theo and Tonny Nolde.
Unfortunately we never got to it.

Mind you, this was 30 years befoire I even knew of Jacob Nolde from Germany/USA!!!!

I m interested in a broader sense in my family background.
But I do not really know how to handle a search.

Harry Nolde was my uncle. His brother, Charles was my father. They were both from Brooklyn n.y. Where I was born in 1938. My late sister, Elisabeth was born in 1933. Uncle Harry marked twice, to Lillian with no children, divorced and remarried to Margret, and had four children. I think, Robert, George and can't remember the others. They are all in n.y.
We lived in Atlantic City n.j. In the 50's I have five children, and now live in California.

My grandfather, Martin Nolde, was the brother of Harry's father Charles. To the best of my knowledge, Harry had no children. His brother Charlie, however, had two. I have been in contact with his grand-daughter, but hesitate to give you her e-mail without permission. If you would like to send me your address, I will gladly forward it to her. This could, of course, be the relative you've already been in contact with - or you could even be her! I have a website with all the NOLDE information I have to date.

I am looking for other descendents of the Nolde family from Hessen, Germany. My immediate family lived in Hanau am Main, Hessen. Mothers name perhaps: Caroline Mallison

I have just found out that my mother's mother's last name was Hohnstien(she died that is my grandmother)over 80 years ago her name was Hohnstien and lived in Fresno California, one of the things I am curious about is the ancestory of the Name Hohnstien, is it German - only, is it a Jewish family name, what part of Germany (if applicable) would one (100 200) years ago find it to be

He had a brother Lou sisters , Maggie and Teresa.
His fathers name I am almost certain is Lou.Cannot recall his mothers name. Grandpop also as I recall was a brick layer and he and Granmom use to have a farm up around where the northeast airport now is. Up on Red Lion road. And Grandmom ran a luncheonette on Red Lion Rd. By the way who;s daughter are you?

My name is George Horbaker - my mother is Joan - she had a brother William we called him Bud - but I do not know of any Henry. Also sister. Floss. Emma and Annamae. Your great grandmother happened to be my favorite Aunt. Also, Grandpop lived with me and mom (Joan) for a while up until he past away (1976).
