Heinrich Nolte b 1850 Germany d 1939 Morgan Co Mo
Tri-County Republican (Stover, Morgan Co, MO), Friday, March 10, 1939, pg 1
On March 3rd, Mr. Heinrich Nolte quietly passed into that home beyond at his home place, at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 23 days.
Mr. Heinrich Nolte was born August 7th, 1850, in the Province of Hanover in Germany. Through baptizm, in early childhood he was received into the Lutheran Church, and at the age of 14 years through confirmation he became a full member of that church. He was a Bible reading Christian, he not only read parts of the Bible, no he went through it from cover to cover, in order to learn what his master had to tell him.
In 1873, he came to this Country and ever since his home has been in Morgan county, Missouri.
April 26th, 1885, Heinrich Nolte was united in Holy wedlock to Miss Maria Lemler. Five children were born to this union, but only four lived. February 6th, 1900, his first wife died and he had to care for the children. Several years later he was married to Mrs. Mary A. Parks.
The deceased was of general good health all his life. About nine years ago he had to undergo a severe operation, but he recovered. The last few years his eye sight started to fail, which made it hard for him, as he could not read his Bible anymore as he liked to do.
On February 22nd, he became ill and the doctor was called. Besides his old trouble of nine years ago, he was afflicted with the flu. Still it seemed he was getting well again, and he told his neighbors, who were visiting him, on Sunday, March 5th, he wanted to go to church. His wish was fulfilled, but he was brought into the church that day as a lifeless corpse, his soul had been called into the world beyond the skies. In the early morning hour, March 2nd, bronchial pneumonia set in, the doctor, who was called twice that day, could not help him. March 3rd, at 1 o’clock in the morning he passed away.
He is survived by his second wife, who has been a true companion to him, one daughter, Mrs. A. J. Lefever, six step-children: Mr. Robert Parks, Mrs. Herman Monsees, Mrs. Kate Williams, Mrs. Fannie Smith, Eunice Nolting, Mrs. Henry Casdorph; seven grandchildren: Mrs. Curtis Hilderbrand, Geraldine Lefever, Mrs. Vernon Kidd, Ruth, Fern, June, and A. J. Lefever, and many others relatives and friends.
Pall Bearers were: August Kroeschen, Fred Kroeschen, Edwin Kroeschen, Robert Kroeschen, Otto Kroeschen, Raymond Kroeschen.
Funeral services were held at the Bethlehem American Lutheran Church in the Nolting community, Rev. E. O. Baack, officiating, with burial in the Bethlehem church cemetery.
