We are reading the same genealogy report that you mentioned. We are Crossley lineage. We noticed that the Nomaid name continues down through the family marriages up until at least the 1970's.

We are very curious, too. We tried to find other Nomaid's currently and have been unable to track them. Have you found out anything?

Heather

NOMAID LINEAGE

My ancestor Toncray had brother who married an Elizabeth Martin in 1807 in Monongalia Co. VA (now WVA)he was killed accidentally in 1814, leaving her with 3 children under 4 yrs. In 1817 she married Wm.B.Holbert, a widower with 5 small children, They had one dau Elizabeth who married Abel Crosley. His ancestor Henry Crosley, born in Lancashire, England ca 1650, married a Nofirst NOMAID. Several generations past Abel & Elizabeth time are more of same last name. I cannot find a father for any or any male named NOMAID........Nofirst was born in England also. Is anyone else searching this name? Much of this early material I found in WorldConnect Project under The Crosley Family by Martha A. Crosley Graham.
