Norbury Family
In dire need of help or ideas please. 2nd Great Grandfather Joseph R. Norbury was confirmed into 4th Reformed Church of Manayunk in 1835 at age of 18. Occupation at this time was shoemaker. I can find no record of him prior to this time except that I do know he was born in 1817 in Philadelphia. I have no idea what church or religion he belonged to prior to 1835. Also, I found a Jacob Norbury on 1820 city directory listed as a shoemaker who may be his father but again no further info on him. What can I do to alliviate this brick wall? I checked church books at the Historical Society and drew a big blank. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
