Thank you so much for the info...I will try to purchase that book or is it a book that can be purchased? Which line of Normands do you descend? Again many thanks.

I thought I'd add this: The given name of "Prosper" might indicate a descent from "Prosper Casimir Barbin," the father of Louis James Barbin and his brother Francois Godefroi Barbin DeBellevue. Both of these sons of Prosper C. Barbin had many descendants in Avoyelles Parish.

I know these queries are ten years old, but I have one of my books open and thought I'd add this info to the string.

I have a "Prosper Normand" who was born 1833, and married 2 August 1866 to Mary Hertzog (sic) at St. Joseph's; and died 18 January 1885 at Mansura, Avoyelles Parish, La., and was buried at St. Paul's Church.

(This info comes from the book "Avoyelles Connections - Vol. VII," by Harry J. Moreau.)

Louis Q. Normand

I am searching for information on my paternal grandfather's brother whose full name was "Louis Quatorze Normand." He was born 6/22/1901 in Orange, Texas, and married Margaret Bryan. He was the 14th child of Marin Normand and Cornelia Elzire Zulma Barbin, both originally of Marksville, Lousiana. I know that Louis Normand and his wife were living in Houston, Texas, back in the early 1970s. But I can find no record of their deaths, burials, or whether they had any children.

I'm trying to find out any info on Augustin, called Justin Normand, who was the second child of Pierre Normand and Marguerite Marcotte. He was married to Severine Bordelon, and died before 1851. Also, does anyone know where I can find a marriage document on Pierre Normand and Marguerite Marcotte. Will be glad to share any information that I have. Thanks so much. Debbie

Desperately need information on Donald Normand who had 2 sons in 1956 & 57 named Michael and Donald in USA

I am trying to help my mothers boyfriend (Birth name Donald William Normand, presently known by his adoptive name Daniel Penny) find his parents and trace his family tree. He was in numerous foster homes and finally adopted but knows very little about his parents.

His mothers name was/is Constance Irene Lessard (maiden name) SHe was born approximately 1932, grew up in Summersworth New Hampshire, USA

She married his father Donald Normand approximately 1949

They had 2 children, a boy named Michael Normand on 9-15-1956 and Donald William Normand (we arent sure if he was a Jr.) on 4-15-1957

I do not at this time know where Michael and Donald were born, just that Donald was premature and in the hospital for 1 month after being born. At about 2-3 months old he was hospitalized again for eating problems.

We know that Constance and Donald divorced, and approximately 1975 she married a man named Jerry Turner and they have 5 children together. We believe this was in Methuin, Mass. (could be spelled wrong?)

If anyone has ANY information that could possibly be connected to this family, please email me immediately!

Thank you
Jessica Tracy

Rexford Normand (NH, Chicago, Oregon) family

Looking for anyone who is researching the family of Rexford A. Normand. Actually there are two (father and son):

Rexford Arnold Normand, b. Jan 1801 in Alton, NH. Parents were John Normand of Brunswick, ME, and Grace Estella Hayes of Alton, NH. John Normand was my great-grandmother's brother. Trying to find out if John's middle initial was "J" (as per censuses) or "D" (as per a OneWorldTree entry).

Also trying to sort out Rexford Normand's wife's maiden name. It was definitely RUBY, but am trying to find out if it was RUBY WILSON (married in July 1924 in Brunswick, ME) or RUBY HELLAND (as per OneWorldTree entry).

This family moved from Brunswick, ME to Chicago, IL (ca. 1930 census) and then in 1940 was living in Luverne, Minnesota. I have an old photograph sent by Rexford to my grandmother (his first cousin), dated 1940, of the log cabin home that they were building at that time. In the photo (though small) are Ruby Normand and mother-in-law Grace Normand. Would be happy to send a scan of the photo to any interested family members.

Louis Normand, 1842-1909, L'Islet to Brunswick, Maine

Looking for information on the family of Louis Normand, born Nov. 1842 in L'Islet, Quebec. I have information on his family/descendants after he moved to Brunswick, ME (probably around 1870); but I have almost no information about his parents or ancestors in Quebec.

It appears that his father's name may also have been Louis Normand, probably born bet. 1797-1798 in/near L'Islet, Quebec. His mother's first name was Veronique (she appears in his household in the 1880 US Census in Brunswick, ME) and she was probably born abt 1799. Also in the household is Louis' sister, Artemise Normand, b. abt. 1840 in Quebec. This is all I have on Louis' ancestry. :-(

While still in Quebec, Louis married Julie Gamache, probably in the mid 1860s. They had the following children:

Louis F. Normand, b. March 1866 in Quebec; died after 1930, probably in Maine.
Pierre Normand, b. abt 1871 in Brunswick, ME; died sometime bet. the 1880 Census and 1909.
Charles Normand, b. abt 1872 in Brunswick; died sometime bet. the 1880 Census and 1909.
Joseph Normand, b. abt 1873 in Brunswick; died sometime bet. the 1880 Census and 1909.
Marie Alphonsine Normand, b. April 1874 in Brunswick; married Adelard Casavant in Brunswick; died in 1906.
John Normand, b. Nov. 1878 in Brunswick; married a girl named Grace, had at least one son, and was in Chicago in 1930.
Dianna (aka Jennie) Normand, b. Jan. 1880 in Brunswick; married Henry Provost; died after 1910. I would like to also find more information on her, as they seem to have had 2 sons.
Harry David Normand, b. Dec 1883 in Brunswick; married a girl named Hattie; d. 1924 in Brunswick.

Louis Normand died in October 1909 in Brunswick. I have a copy of a very nice obit for him from The Brunswick Record, saying that he was a member of the Brunswick Police Dept for 33 years.

Does anyone have information on the Quebec family/ancestry of Louis Normand, or more info on any of his descendants?
Ludger shows up in the census of Sanford Maine as a son of Claude Bouffard so Claude was my grandfathers uncle and my mothers first cousin...so Ludger was my second cousin and his children would be my third cousins and so on.

Good luck I am very new with this but have found it fascinating...I guess somehow we may be distant cousins - 3rd or 4th cousins.

Please feel free to contact me offline if you like...pjobrien1@comcast.net.

Hi,

There was a Lucien Normand who once lived in Sanford, Maine who came from a very large family. I am not sure of Lucien's date of birth but he may be the brother of my grandfather J. Oscar Normand and the son of Louis Normand and Rose Delima Bouffard.
normand/Juneau

For many months I have been working on finding my grandfathers first wife, Lucille Normand. Although I have four Lucillie's in my file, ( there may be more) none fit the bill until today. I have no hard proof, just suppositions but wondered if anyone may have something to prove or disprove what I have.
Titus Normand and Azelie Bonnette had a Lucille born 11/25/1845 baptized 2/15/1846. She married Maximilien Dupuy 7/29/1862, married 2nd Aurelien Dauzat 2/5/1867. I have found no children for these two marriages. I found Aurelien and Lucille in 1870 census with no children, but they do not show up in 1880. In 1880 I find my grandfather Emile Juneau with a Lucille and two children, Emile Jr., and Eraste.
I know this Lucille was a Normand from family stories. In the 1870 census, my grandfather, Emile, Titus Normand and Aurelien and Lucille were all living in Subdivision 6, Avoyelles Parish. In some records I show Lucille Normand wife of Emile Juneau born 3/30/1845. I believe this date came from a relative but not sure. Too close to 11/1845 not to check it out.
My Lucille Normand died about 1883 in childbirth or shortly there after for Emile married 2nd. Marie Elizordie Mayeux 5/8/1883 and 3rd, Louise Agatha Vide on 9/21/1906. I descend from the 3rd marriage.
Thanks for any corrections or verifications.. I appreciate your input.
I am still looking for info on my great great grandfather.
What I have found so far is
He was born- appr. April 1846 somewhere in the
North of France.
died- March 1926 in Niagra Wisconsin

From the Normand Society

He was married to a Irma Veronique Despres

He was then married to my great great grandmother
Marcelline Cyr. They were married Sept 1878

from family stories
he had a first wife( no one knows her name) he had 3 children in France. they were Benjamin, maurice, and edith.

The story then goes on to say that he left France to avoid something(no one can remember)possibly a war. He took the kids and went to china. from china he went to quebec. There he married marcelline.

I would really love to discover where exactly he was born and who his ancestors were.
