Normandy family from Montana & Canada
I am trying to find more info on Peter Normandy from Montana. This is what I do know... He was born in 1877, he went to Deer Lodge State Penn in 1900, don't know when he was released, but by around 1918 he married an Aleut woman named Louise Sheehan at which time they lived on the mountain above Havre Montana which at one time was called Normandy Coulee. Evidently he wasn't a decent nor kind person, no one that knew him will talk about him except to say that they're just glad he's dead, biggest favor he ever did anyone. Now in the Montana's pioneer index it mentions a Frank & Pete Normandy who are from "Canada French" that were born in 1820 & 1845, I don't know who was first but I do know that 2 of his kids are named Peter & Frank so I'm assuming that these men were his father & grandfather, because of the 20 year difference in age. Also the path that they took also let me know they were, Metis indian, or thier wives were... it wasn't uncommon for french men to tkae indian wives as a matter of fact it was almost unheard of for them to marry any other kind of woman. I know he had alot of family on the upper east coast in the New England area but don't know where or who... Does anyone know anything about this family?
