I am descended from James W. Norris, b. 1804 in Phelps, Ontario, NY. and his first wife, L. Marlett, (through his son Joseph.) James W. Norris had 7 children that I am aware of. They are Joseph M. Norris- born abt 1832 NY, James Norris - b. abt 1834 NY), Oliver Norris - b abt 1834 NY, Emily Norris - b. abt 1837 NY, Mary E. Norris - b abt 1841 NY, Charles Norris - born about 1848 NY, and George Norris, born abt 1850 NY. All were born in New York and lived in Nunda, Livingston Co., NY. The youngest two, Charles and George, were likely sons of his second wife, Adeline DeMott Brunson.
I know that Joseph, Emily, Mary, and Oliver moved to Michigan and settled in Ionia and Montcalm Counties.
James W. Norris died in or after 1880 presumably in Nunda, Livingston, NY, but I cannot confirm. In that census, his parents were listed as born in NJ.
I have the names of the spouses of James W. Norris' children, and some info. on most of them.
