Hi Kay,
I also found the census records you listed below. Ann the wife of Thomas Norris is listed in the 1861 census with her daughter and son-in-law William and Ann (Symmons) Mitchell, Wm & Ann Mitchell came over to the United States in 1866 and settled in Brighton, Il. In the 1871 census Ann Norris is listed with her daughter Ellen(Symmons)Bagg and son-in-law Henry Bagg(they were married in the year 1867). Ellen was the daughter of Robert and Ann Symmons, and I think she may have been the last child born to them. I don't know if Robert died or maybe they were divorced, I have not been able to verify. I have a marriage certificate for Ann and William Mitchell that lists her father as Robert Symmons and they were married in the year 1843. Can you tell me if the father has died, would he still be listed on the marriage certificate or would they signify if he was deceased?
I'm sorry for getting away from my original request about Thomas and Ann. This is where I'm stuck, can't find anything on Thomas Norris or his family. I haven't found a marriage record for Thomas and Ann either.
Thanks again for all your help,
Carol
