Wow! I just happened to find this wandering around on the net.. Carl Notestine was my grandfather. Della was my great aunt and Fred was my great uncle. Della and Fred both lived in Oregon, and my grandfather lived in Alaska. Carl Notestine had three sons: Julian (my father), Barry, and Philip. My father lives in Washington and his brothers both live in Canada. I have never heard a word about Rhoda Morey Notestine Balm, though.. how can I find information about her and who came before her?

Brian,

Thanks so much for the information. I did find a newspaper article on Daniel and it indicated Daniel was married 5 times. Twice to the same woman. I did find a Tomb stone that was a squared pilar in Notestine Cemetary that read Wifes of D. Notestine. I could only read Charlotte's name, the others were very faint or not existant. I had not found wedding dates or death dates for his wives so this article is very helpful.

Thank you, Lois & Sandy
I have just recently located information on my Great Grandmother Elizabeth Notestine ( married John Campbell Oct, 31, 1878) daughter of Daniel Notestine and Charlotte (last name unknown). Daniel Notestine died Feb.15,1906. I have located some articles on a Peter Notestine which also show that he resided in the same Cedar Creek area of Allen County, IN. They are only 3 years apart in age and both were born in OH. I have not been able to identify Daniel's parents but have have identified Peter's parents as a Jacob and Barbara Notestine. Can anyone tell me if Daniel and Peter are brothers or cousins?

Thanks

Clinton, then you decend from Nancy Hatfield and her first husband Jacob (1816 - 1847). I decend from Nancy's sister Rachel and her second husband John M. Smead. Both Nancy and Rachel's first husbands were Notestine brothers. I'm not researching the Notestine line however in my Hatfield and Allen County, Indiana resesearch I've gathered a lot of Information on them. I have a private, invite only site for my Archer, Hatfield and Smead lines that you might want to see. You decend from both my Archer and Hatfield lines and I'm sure there's quite a bit there that you would be interested in.
