Stanley/Stanislaw Nowak - Montreal area - looking for info/connections

Stanley Nowak died on May 21,1 1982 in a suburb of Montreal. I believe his wife's name was Klara and that he had two daughters. They divorced. Stanley brought his mother to the US from Poland in the late 1940's or 1950's. Any help/info is appreciated.

Trying to dig up some information on my Grandfather's Mother's side of the family. Not a lot of info that I have found so far. I am looking for a listing for Joseph Nowak and Antoinette Kujawa. Their daughter is Mary Nowak. I know very little about Mary except that she married my great-grandfather in Wisconsin and her parents are Joseph Nowak and Antionette.

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- Timothy John Nowak, 46, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Theda Clark Medical Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. today at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside in Oshkosh. The Rev. Mike Koch will officiate.

Visitation is 5 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Nowak was born on Sept. 21, 1955, in Eau Claire, Wis.

He attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1973.

He was a member of the National Guard from 1975-1976.

Since 1976 he worked in various aspects of the construction business most recently being self-employed.

He was well known for his talent as a craftsman and willingness to help others with their home projects.

He enjoyed building the family cabin to entertain those he loved. He loved his children.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Christofferson Nowak; a daughter, Jenna; a son, Joseph; his parents; two brothers, Robert Nowak and his wife, Michele, and Tony Nowak and his wife, Geralyn; a sister, Jaclyn Vinmans and her husband, Peter; and nieces and nephews, Ryan and Elise Epp, Eric Christofferson, Zachary Sprang, Emily, Nicholas, Alex, Lucas, Brandon, Bettyann, Katie and Megan Nowak and Johnny Vinmans.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mary Nowak and Henry and Anna Solie.

Have found more info on the Sawicki side of my family but sorry no Ambrose. My ggmothers name was Alexandria born in Sobieski Poland/Russia abt 1843 and arrived in Ellis Island in 1893 with a son, Frank and a daughter, Magdelina. She also had a son Peter(in the Chicago area in 1943) and another daugter, Appolina (living in Pa)Should you find any connections with these names, please let me know.

Hi Lenore, this is a total shot in the dark, but do you think we might have anything to connect on? My GG was Hedwig Sawicki immigrated to US/New York I believe in 1907 (born in 1887). I can't find a thing on her lineage. She came from Poland, but I don't know what town/city (maybe Warsaw). She was married when she arrived here (her husband was William Ambrose). Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Updated information. Edward Nowak born Nov. 2,1893 in Poland, Russia. Emigrated to USA 1900 on vessel Patricia. Married Helen Nolan abt 1913. Pvt. in Army 1918. Left wife and children abt 1925. Was widowed in 1932. Remarried was living in Queens, NY (Long Island City) Worked or owned candy store in 1941 in LIC, NY. Second family may not have known about first family. Think he is buried in VA Cemetary in Farmingdale, NY.

Hi, This is Jim Nowak in Alpena Michigan....My great Grandfather was John who setteled in Posen Mich....came from Beaver Dam Wis with his Brother Frank. Frank Left for Penn and disappeared off the map.
By the way, Is this Don Nowakow?

Probably Andrzej in Polish.
I ran into Donald Nowakow, from New Mexico back in 2003, and he seemed to have much info on the Nowaks, but have lost contact with him.
I live in Alpena, Michigan - just 25 miles from Posen, Michigan.
Maybe there is a connection here?

I am seeking for any information on a Mr. Nowak who lived at 2871 E. Venago Street, Philadelphia, Pa 19136 in Port Richmond/Bridesburg Section of the City. Lived their in 1930's.
He married Anna (Maciejak) Witczak who was the widow of Michael Witczak. He died in 1920. She had seven kids. Any information would be appreciated. horseandbuggy@juno.com

I have a Great-Great Grandfather named Casimir J. Nowak (which was Nowaczyk) before he changed it. In some of the censuses, they list Casimir as Cashmere. He married Susan Smith and they lived in Marquette, MI. My Grandfather is Clement M. Nowak. Please reply if you think this might be one of our shared ancestors. Casimir was born around 1880 in Poland. Susan was born in Pennsylvania around 1880 or 1881.

Rosary 7:30pm Friday at Nobles Funeral Chapel, Navasota, TX. -- published in the Houston Chronicle, 1 Feb 1991. Transcriber is not a relative and has no further information regarding this family.

My great-grandparents (Albert Nowak & Rose Gima) were both born in Poland. My grandmother Josephine Helene Nowak was the first generation born in the U.S.

My grandmother Josephine Helene Nowak (born 1918/died 1982 in Detroit, MI) had three siblings: Frank, Pauline and Stanley and her parents were Albert J Nowak (1893-1976) and Rose Gima (abt 1900-abt 1945).

I wonder if she could be a sibling of my husband's Great, Great Grandfather, Vincenty Nowak. Vincenty's daughter Josephine married Kasper or Hasper Kula. Vincent's wife, Maryanna Stolowski, was born August 19, 1860 in Posiatne Village, Poland, and died June 12, 1952 in Bay City, Michigan.

John, son of Martin or possibly John, and Lottie (Wladaslwa Czepleski) Nowak, daughter of Lewis, are my grandparents. Both were born in German occupied Poland and lived in Drifton and Freeland Pa between 1889 and 1927. John was born Dec 25th 1866 and died February 10th 1908. Lottie was born June 27th 1874 and died April 2, 1927. They were married in Shamokin PA in 1890 had 13 children, ten who survived inf antsy Joseph, Annie, Marion, Stanley, Anthony, Sigmund, Bertha, Estelle, Victoria, and John. All lived in North East Pa, most in Freeland. It is their grand children who scattered across the US. I don't believe that these are the same John and Lottie that you are looking for.
However my brother also has some details on other Nowak family immigrants, including Pauline Nowak Kujat Gavinski, Albert, Andrew, Stanley, Ellen Nowak Wisnieski, Agnes, and Ignatius.

I am searching for information for my nephew. He would like to get any information available on his father. We are looking for anyone that can tell us anything on Marek I Nowak, born 25 April 1951 in Poland. He came to US in about 1982 and moved to Utah. He has two daughters still in Poland. He has one brother Andrea. He parents both passed away in the early 2000's. We don't know anything more than that. We don't even know if Marek is still living. Andrew his son has never seen his dad and would really like to get to know about his father's side of his family. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I just started do my own family tree. I have found that a Theresia ulmann born to Franz and Johannia Ullman from bohemia. She was born in 1864 she married nowak John they had a son mamed Frank 1894 that is my grand father. The family had a farm in Auburn township, Chippewa County as a farmer. Frank Ullmann immigrated through Baltimore In 1910 Census in Auburn township, chippewa County.

I live in Essexville, but I am currently in Big Rapids attending Ferris State University. I'm pretty sure that my father or grandmother have some photos of them.
