Surnames: Nulph Bleakney
I know that William was born in 1832, and lived in Porter, Clarion, PA. Between 1860-1869 he changed his name to Bleakney (which was his mother's maiden name) and moved to Slippery Rock, Lawrence, PA. He married Nancy Rebecca Manning. Does anyone know why he changed his name? Draft dodger, deserter, legal problems?
