NOTE: Jesse Clyde's birthplace "Jackson MS" is from his WWI draft registration and I do not know if it is Jackson County, MS or a city named Jackson in MS.

I do not known when or where James Franklin Sr died but by 1900 Josephine [McDuffie] Nunnellee was widowed and in living in Polk Co TX:

However, Amanda 1st married a "Mr Nunnelee" so I do not know whether James was Walter or Amanda's son ???
I am certain, however, that Amanda's 1st husband was Walter's brother because..........

I do not know who Walter or Amanda's parents or siblings are
but because of the surname spelling Nunnelee and Nunnellee I am certain that Walter is a descendant of James Franklin Nunnelee or Walter Franklin Nunnelee both sons of William Womack Nunnelee and Ann [Franklin].

My money is on Walter's middle name being Hubbard or Hamilton and that his parents were Martha [Terrell] and Simeon Nunnelee son of James Franklin Nunnelee son of William Womack Nunnelee and Ann [Franklin].

One last item, Walter received a CSA pension :
"W. H. NUNNELLEE applied for a Confederate pension from Bradley Co AR in 1908, citing his service in Co D, 20th Mississippi Infantry. His application was approved on August 6, 1908. Amanda Nunnellee also applied for a Confederate pension from Bradley County in 1912, stating that her husband had died on August 10, 1911. Her application was approved on August 8, 1912. The PENSION record file NUMBER is 4039."

If anyone can share any information on the ancestry or descendants of this "orphaned" Nunnellee family I would deeply, deeply appreciate it.

I was asked by Mary Francis Nunnery to post a message
for anyone interested in getting a copy of her book
the family nunnery. it includes nunnery, nunnalee, nunally, nunley,
nurney and more. i myself have a copy and i can tell you that it
is a beautiful hard bound book chalk full of information, this
was a well written book and is made up of a massive amount of research.
there were many people waiting for this book to get finished and Mary
says that she was unable to get word to many of you becasue of
the post office changing over from route numbers and such.

Searching for a Daniel Nunnellee who is shown on the 1850-60-70 Halifax county, VA census. On the 1850 Halifax, Va census he was shown married to a Martha Dixon. Daniel was a Physician. In their household was a daughter Elizabeth age 27, twin daughters Martha and Mary age 18, and Sharon Frances Weatherford age 7 and Lewis Edwin Weatherford, age 4. I am looking for the Nunnellee family with hopes of discovering why and how these Weatherford children were living in the Nunnellee household. The Weatherford children were still living in the Weatherford household on the 1860 census.

Lewis E. Weatherford was a soldier in the Civil War. He served both in the Infantry and Calvary. Both Lewis and Sharon went to Missouri in either 1864-65. Maybe some of the Dixon/Dickson family had moved up near Montgomery City, MO and the Weatherfords went there too? I have not been able to find what happened to the Weatherfords parents. Names may have been Charles A Weatherford who married a Patience Nunnellee?
