Ella J. NUTTING m. Diton E. HADLOCK

I would appreciate any help in tracking information on Ella J. NUTTING. From what little bit I've been able to gather online, it seems she was married to Diton E. HADLOCK (my ancestor) in 1876, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. By 1885 he had remarried to Mary REES and lived in Chicago area.

I've found her possibly in the 1880 Grant, Reno Co., Kansas census, living with the CARPENTER family, as Ella HADLOCK, 23, servant, WI, VT, VT. The VT location of her parents is what leads me to believe this is the correct Ella NUTTING. However, I do not know why she is in Kansas or why her husband is not with her. Her marriage information is blank.

In 1880, I've found Diton HADLOCK, her husband, in Fargo, Cass Co., Dakota. He is living with his Aunt and cousins, he is 26 and listed as married. His aunt has some mines and that could possibly be why he was living with her at the time. Either to help or to get his own mine, I don't know.

I've seen some online trees that indicate Ella NUTTING's parents are Edmond NUTTING and Caroline Hopkins PARMELEE, both from Vermont, but have no proof and have not been able to find that couple on any online records.

I'd like to know if there were any children from this marriage and if Ella remarried, etc.

Thanks for your help.
Sandy

John Keep Nutting 1832 of Groton, MA

I am not related, but John Keep Nutting built the "Little Brown Church in the Vale" in Bradford, IA. From a 1934 pamplet I have from my parent's wedding it gives this information:
JOHN KEEP NUTTING A. B., B. D.

The son of Joseph D. and Lucinda [Keep] Nutting, was born at Groton, Massachusetts, May 17, 1832. He was graduated from “Williams College in 1853 and was a member of the class of 1856 of Hartford Theological Seminary. On March 3, 1857, at Chandlerville, Ohio, he married Celeste E. Chandler. Five children were born to them.
Mr. Nutting was ordained to the Christian ministry as a Home Missionary in the First Congregational Church of Eddyville, Iowa, September 8, 1858. He served aspastor of the First Congregational church of Polk City, Iowa until the fall of 1859, at which time he accepted a call to the pastorate of the First Congregational Church of Bradford, Iowa. It was during this pastorate of eight years that the Little Brown Church in the Vale was built, largely through the initiative, the leadership, and the sacrifice of this young and energetic minister. The church building was begun in 1862 and the completed structure was dedicated to the worship of God and the service of man on December 24, 1864. During his ministry in this place Mr. Nutting was also very active in the organization of the Mitchell Association of Congregational Churches, of which this church is a member.
In addition to his ministry in the Little Brown Church in the Vale the Reverend Mr. Nutting served as pastor of Congregational Churches in Austinburg, Ohio; Polk City, Iowa; Nashua, Iowa;, President of Tangalco College, Tangaloo, Miss.; Glenwood, Iowa; Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Farmington, Iowa; and Crystal Springs, Florida. He died in Crystal Springs, Florida on September 17, 1917.
I am looking for information on the Thomas Nutting Family in Columbus Ohio in the 1880 Census.

Thomas Nutting b. abt 1840 Wales
Jane Nutting b. abt 1847 nee Evans b. Wales
John T Nutting b. abt 1876 m. Edith C. Cox
Anna Nutting b. abt 1879 m. William H. Reel
Elizabeth Baxter b. abt 1853 - Sister-In-Law b. Wales

I found the following in Green Lawn Cemetery Inscriptions:

Thomas Nutting 11-29-1840 - 12-1-1891 Father John Nutting

Jane Nutting 1-26-1847 - 3-12-1923 Father John Evans

Lizzie Howell 9-1853 - 3-13-1885 Father Thomas Baxter

I am trying to figure out how Elizabeth (Lizzie) Howell nee Baxter is a Sister-In-Law to Thomas Nutting. I believe Elizabeth to be the mother of Charles Baxter Howell and wife of Samuel Newton Howell.

Could Thomas Nutting have been married before Jane Evans to a Baxter?

Any information would be greatful.

Solomon Nutting family, Franklin county Vt, Quebec

Would like information on the parents and siblings of Solomon Nutting who married Fannie Judd. Their son Theodore B. Nutting, b. 1839, d. 25 Sep 1918, married Catherine Place on 07 Aug 1859. Their children were Georgia, Orville, Guy Butler, Bertha. I have limited data on the children.

Catherine Place's sister Clara V. Place married a brother of Theodore Nutting, his name was Oscar Nutting, b. 1847, in Quebec, d. 16 Oct 1911 at Abercorn, Que. I have only found one child for this couple, Nina Nutting, b. 1875, in Quebec. Oscar is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Richford, Vermont, it does appear that Clara is buried there as her tombstone date of death remains blank.
I would appreciate any information on this Nutting family.

Winfield Scott Nutting and Ada Isabella Hesselgrave - Eldora Co., Iowa (from Canada)

I am looking for anyone who might have a Winfield Scott Nutting in their family line - especially Nutting families from Canada.

He lived in Eldora County, Iowa for some time. His wife, whom I assumed he married in Wisconsin (the Baraboo region) was Ada Isabella Hesselgrave. He is my g-g-grandfather. We have no information on him except that he owned a store in Iowa, was fairly wealthy, but lost it all in the Great Depression (he literally "gave away the store" and never asked his debtors to pay him back - he was a good man).

His daughter was Luella Nutting, later Luella Tyler. She was my g-grandmother on my mother's side. She married Sylvester George Tyler and lived in Will County, Illinois.

Winfield Scott Nutting supposedly came from Canada but we have no information on his parents names, or where they were from, or of what nationality (Scottish? English? Irish?).

I would appreciate any help with this if anyone out there knows this family or has this man in their line.

Alas, the ninth child of same parents is Emily. Would appreciate information on parents and siblings. Also connection (if any) to the other, well-documented New England Nuttings.
NUTTINGS IN WISCONSIN

I am attempting to trace my family tree on my grandfather's side. His name was Daryl L. Nutting, born 2/21/1926 in Appleton, Wisconsin. His father, Nelson Nutting, born 12/20/1899. Nelson had many siblings. I know of one sister, Eunice Nutting (now Hendricks). I believe a Leona Nutting was a sister as well, born 8/7/1898. This is all I have of right now. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Heather : )

John Willis Nutting Mary Jane Mullens

I have found these ancestors, they were married and lived at Highgate, London, England. They had 13 children, with only 8 living past childhood. John Willis Nutting's parents came from Brighton, England. They had apro. 10 children, lost them all in an epidemic. They then restarted their family having another 10 children. John Willis is the only child of theirs that I know of. I do not know his parents names either. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
