Can anyone connect to Oakleaf family, John J. Oakleaf, sisters are Caroline, Theresa and Margariet in Titusville, Pa. Grandparents came in early 1800's and name got translated later on by school teachers !My Grandmother was Margariet and she was a seamstress and she married William Prenatt. The Oakleaf (Eikenlaub) came from Laudu, Germany which was Bavaria then. The Prenatt she married is from over the German border in France. Both of these areas were Ausas Lorinae and changed names several times during wars etc. John J. Oakleaf had a business in Titusville of A drygoods store. John J. Oakleaf died in January 1968 at 102 years of age. Can anyone connect.
