Re: George Richard Oatham and Adeline Emily Oatham

Hi there,

Danny Oatham that you mentioned in your post is my Grandfather and I am currently trying to trace our Oatham ancestry, but this is proving to be more difficult than I thought. In regards to George Richard Oatham and Adeline Emily Oatham, I do know there are a few Oathams in Wellington and the Lower Hutt areas of New Zealand which are not directly related to our family, as we are based mainly in the Waikato. They may have more knowledge of their ancestry which may help you out with your query.

Oathams

To all the correspondents interested in Oatham. My interest is with Henry Oatham ( born in Essex) the Housepainter from South View Cottages Hackney aged 57 in the 1881 census. He was married to Mary Ann Jones. Henry is my great, great garndfather. In 1858 He and his wife were living in Mile End in London where they had a daughter Selina Alice Oatham. Selina married James Norton Cadby. They had Edith Selina Cadby who is my paternal grandmother and who married John Sidney Lovell. If anyone has more information I would be pleased to hear from them. Like other correspondents I too would like to know who Henry Oathams' parents were.

George Richard Oatham and Adeline Emily Oatham

From New Zealand - I'm still looking for anybody connected with George Richard Oatham and Adeline Emily Oatham (my parents) There was an Ernie Oatham. My father George was a fireman in London during WW2. My mother died in 1946/7 and I have no idea what she looked like - there were no photos as far as I know.
I've come across a Daniel Oatham, a race--horse trainer living in Cambridge, New Zealand & feel he must be a relative as he too is from Hackney. He too cannot trace his own ancestry. Anybody out there who can help?
My father changed his name to Daniel Othem-Flynn and lived and died in Aberdeen in 1977 approx - can't remember the exact year. I have some half-siblings last heard of in Glasgow c/o NSPCC: Brian and Rosalie + one other girl. Anybody of that connection heard of these people? Brian (probably Oatham) would be 55 years old.
