William O'Banion (1800-1880) son of John O'Banion?

Classification: Query
Surnames: O'Banion/O'Bannon
I have my family history documented with sources through William O'Banion (1800-1880). I have seen several Ancestry.com accounts that show that William was the son of John. I have documented sources for John O'Banion (1765 or 1768 - 1815) all the way back to Bryan O'Banion. I'm trying to link my 4th Great Grandfather William to John son of James son of John son of Bryan. So far I haven't been able to find any documentation or proof that links the two. Can anyone help or at least point me in the right direction?
