I was curious about the English translation of our family motto on the crest, and I dug around on the web a bit. A couple of translations emerged: "To the strong hand the power" and "The strong hand uppermost". Would you comment on the intended meaning?
Does it refer to earthly power or strength; ie., sovereignty flowing from military might, or spiritual power; ie., earthly authority flowing fom God?
Thanks in advance for your help.
