UKBMD has been asked to seek the opinions of its users.
There's a survey linked from the home page which I hope you will take the time to answer.

If you could see birth, marriage and deaths certificates on-line, would you prefer to see the original register entries held by the local register offices, or the secondary copy held by the GRO?
