KEGLEY - Elizabeth Florence 'Betty' Bailey O'Dell, 85, of Kegley, passed a way Tuesday, April 22, 2003 following a short illness.
Born July 3, 1917, at Crumpler, she was the daughter of the late Edward Le vi Bailey and Annie Ratcliff Bailey.
Mrs. O'Dell was of the Jehovah's Witness faith. She will be missed and lov ed by all the people young and old whom she touched, loved and educat ed in the truth for as long as time last.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robe rt Ben O'Dell; three sons, Ronnie, Wayne and Lewis; and two grandchildre n, Benjamin Fowler and David Belcher.
Survivors include six sons, Robert O'Dell and wife Enoya of Richlands, N.C ., Charles O'Dell and wife Mary Jane of Riverdale, Md., Everett O'Dell a nd wife Carol of Gambrills, Md., Curtis O'Dell and wife Peggy of Kegley, G ary 'Dean' O'Dell and wife Karen of Kegley and Richard O'Dell and wife Sus an of Princeton; four daughters, Garnet Hale and husband Rick of Kirkse l, Ky., and Janet Heslep, Carolyn O'Dell, Ann Huffman and husband Lonnie a ll of Kegley; two sisters, Lucille Eanes of Covington, Va. and Verla Ha rt of Georgia; 34 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and two great-grea t-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Rowland H. Bail ey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Minister E ddie Wimmer will do the eulogy. Interment will follow at the O'Dell Cemete ry at Lamar.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Meadows, Raynard McKinney, Randal Cecil, Lonn ie Huffman, Eric O'Dell, Curt O'Dell, Sean Fowler and Jay Heslep.

Lashmeet, West Virginia- Jearel Wayne O'Dell, 61, died at a Bluefield, West Virginia hospital. Born 27 May 1937, at Crumpler, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert "Bennie" and Betty Bailey O'Dell. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a craftsman press operator in Bladensburg, Maryland. He was a member of the Graphic Union Local 285 of Washington, D.C. and was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Maryland. While in Maryland he couached boxing and football. He also was a fan of NHRA car racing and loved fishing and hunting with his family. His survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Glenda Rose O'Dell of the home; two sons, Jearel W. O'Dell, Jr. an wife Stephanie of Christiansburg, Virginia and Travis W. O'Dell an wife Mandy of Lashmeet; two daughters, Rhonda Fields and husband Kevin of Jessup, West Virginia and Teena Wajsgras and husband Davis of Mendham, New Jersey; six brothers, Charles E. O'Dell of Riverdale, Maryland, Everette B. O'Dell of Jessup, Lewis O'Dell of Alexandria, Virginia, Robert O'Dell of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Curtis O'Dell and Gary Dean O'Dell, both of Kegley, West Virginia and Richard Allen O'Dell of Princeton, West Virginia; four sisters, Garnett Hale, Janet Heslep, Ann Huffman and Caroline Belcher, all of Kegley; and 10 grandchildren, Nick, Michael, Jessica, Aaron, Kristyn, John, Travis, Jr., Tyler, Jared, and Stacy. Services were held at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial followed at O'Dell Cemetery in Matoaka, West Virginia.

KEGLEY — Carolyn Sue O’Dell, 60, of Kegley, left this world peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, November 14, 2008 after a long courageous battle with leukemia. Born March 13, 1948 on Conner Mountain in Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late Benny O’Dell and Betty Bailey O’Dell. Mrs. O’Dell was a free-spirit and lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. She was a homemaker and of the Jehovah Witness faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David Belcher; three brothers, Wayne O’Dell, Louis O’Dell and infant, Ronnie O’Dell; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane O’Dell and Peggy O’Dell. Survivors include one son, Dennie “Dude” Belcher, Jr. and his wife Patrice of Princeton; one daughter, Amanda Belcher of Kegley; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Allyson and David; six brothers, Robert O’Dell and his wife Enoya of Richlands, N.C., Charles O’Dell of Riverdale, Md., Everett O’Dell and his wife Carol of Lerona, Curtis O’Dell and Garry O’Dell, both of Kegley and Richard O’Dell and his wife Susan of Princeton; three sisters, Garnet Hale and her husband Rick of Kirksel, Ky., Janet Heslep of Kegley and Ann Huffman and her husband Lonnie of Kegley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Minister Eddie Wimmer will do the eulogy. Interment will follow at the O’Dell Cemetery at Lamar. SPANISHBURG -- David Dwane Belcher, two-month-old son of Benny B. and Carolyn Sue O'Dell Belcher, was found dead in bed Sunday morning. Cause of death has not been determined.
Other survivors include the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Belcher of Spanishburg and Mrs. Betty O'Dell of Kegley.
The funeral will be at 1 p. m. Tuesday in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L. P. Duncan in charge. Burial will be in Calfee Cemetery at Lake Shawnee.
