I was rereading some postings and any information I could find, for all the different Oehlerts that came to the US from Saxony, Germany.

I can't help but wonder if given the similarities in names, locations at a given time and occupations of children that my Great Great Grandfather Johann Frederick or Frederick Johann Oehlert born 1820 in Saxony is another son of Johann Gottfried Oehlert born 1799 Altenburg, Saxony that was married twice; and just not linked to the family.

In one census he uses the name August and was a shoemaker. Two of his sons were ministers.

I have also been trying to figure out when his wife Eleanore died and where she is buried. They came to the US 30 Nov 1858 and he is a widower by 1870. I also haven't figured out what happened to their daughter Amelia born about 1851.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
