      <description>My wife's Knop and Greve (how the names were spelled in birth records) ancestors were born in Herringhausen in 1822 and 1823 and died in Cincinnati OH.  We know all their ancestors back 3 generations from those 2.  We are planning a visit to Herrringhausen in 2009 or 2010.  Do you know of any way to find out if there are descendants of their parents still living in the area.  Thanks.</description>

      <description>As far as I know there are three Oelgeschlager clans in the greater Bohmte area that are not related to each other.&lt;br&gt;My Grandparents lived in Stirpe/Oelingen just a few miles outside of Bohmte. There are lots of smal towns in that area with Oelgeschlagers. Hunteburg, Bad Essen, Ostercappeln, Hitzhausen, Herringhausen,... &lt;br&gt;Check on ellisisland.org for passenger lists.</description>

      <description>The village you are talking about is called Harringhausen. It is near Bohmte where many Oelgeschlägers still live today.</description>

      <description>Family living in Terre Haute, IN circa 1872 and forward but may have been in the United States as early as 1858/59. Formerly from Prussia (Germany)and the village of Harringhause. Earliest Prussian ancestor, Johann, born about 1810 married Maria Ortmann.</description>
