Hi. I am just beginning my homework on my family tree and was delighted to stumble on this message board and the other information about our family on Ancestry.com.

My paternal great grandfather was Mike Offenbacker, who married a Kate Purdham around 1870 or so. Their children included William, Frank, Charley (who I understand lived in Virginia, where I now reside), Martin Alfred (my grandfather, who was born in 1885), Nellie, John and Mattie.

Any information or links anyone could provide about this branch of the family would be greatly appreciated. I apologize in advance if I sound pretty green about all this --
