descrepances galore.
The 1900 census shows John born in 1965 in Kentucky, father and mother from Tn.

The 1910 census shows John born in 1857 in Tennessee, father and mother from Tn.

no 1890 census... :(

the 1880 has a W.T. Ogilvie in Grundy Co. married to Mary J. with a son named John born in 1857 or 1858.
The cense says W.T. was born in Ohio, parents born in Va.
Mary J. was born in North Carolina, parents born unknown.

Going back further, the 1860 census (Maury co.) has a
W.T. Ogivlie (head) age 34
Mary (wife) age 38
lots of siblings and
John (son) 4 years old or born in 1856 or 1857..

Going back further, the 1850 census (Maury co.) has a
W.T. Ogilvie (head) 24 years old
Mary (wife) 25 years old
Rebecca 3 years
Katherine 2 years
(no john) not born yet.

That same 1850 census has a
Thos Ogilvie listed immediately before W.T.
Thos Ogilvie age 53, born in Va
Rebecca age 46 born in Va
George age 17 born in Ohio

This looks like the family line for John but there are enough descrepancies to shed some doubt. I just don't think there were other Ogilvie's (Ogelvie's) living on the Mountain back then.. THat's why I believe W.T. was Johns father and Mary was his mother.. that would make Thos and Rebecca John's grand parents.. my ggggreat grandparents.
