My mothers great uncle was William Ogilvie the surveyor and commisioner of the Yukon territory in the late 1800's. He was born in 1846 in Carelton Ottawa
The reason I know this my mother remembers her father Andrew Alexander Ogilvie born Byng Inlet, 1892-1968, bringing out large framed photographs of his uncle. The pictures disapeared when my mother was a teenager.
Andrews father was David Ogilvie b. 1854 in Carelton, Ottawa. He died in 1922 and is buried in Colliingwood Ontario. His mother Margurite Crawford born 1862 from the Penetanguishne area in Ontario
For a short time they lived in Byng Inlet where my grandfather was born. I cannot establish the connection since I have no idea who David's father is.
Can anyone help?
