I started researching when my husband and I decided to come to Ireland this year...will be in Sligo August 29. My great-grandparent's home is still standing, just outside Aclare, owned by my mother's cousin Mary (Kneafsey) Hopkins. She is in the USA and I will get more information from her so I can visit the family home. My mother's other cousin, James O'Hara, and his wife Margaret, moved to Letterbrone (I think) 10-15 years ago. I found a John O'Hara from Letterbrone in the phone book and called--he thinks Jim may have moved to Kiltimagh; but I can't find him there. I want to visit with Jim and his wife and do some further research into my family's history when we are ther. I do have information starting with my grandparents (O'Hara from Belclare and Calvey from Killasser), their children/spouses and grandchildren. I also have the names of my great-grandparents John & Mary (Hegarty) O'Hara. I have the Ellis Island records for both grandparents. But don't know where to go from there. I would love to visit with my cousin Jim and his wife when I'm there and continue to build our history. Thanks so much for help anyone can provide.
