O'Hearn's in the Fall River, Mass and Rhode Island Area?

My Great Grandfather was William O'Hearn, born aprox. August 1877 in Fall River, Mass. From the information I gathered his mother's name was Ellen Whalon, from Ireland, and his father's name was Maurice (Morriss)O'Hearn, also from Ireland. He was married to Johanna Sheahan who died in 1913. They had five children, William (1906-1906), Maurice (1908-1914), Mary (Dec.1906-1987), Lillian (1910-2001,My Grandmother) and John (1912-1994). He had a brother David (1869-1970) and sister Mary (aprox. 1872, married a Patrick Healy). There may be other children but I have yet to locate them.

My Grandmother, who married Joseph E. Jackson (around 1930) and had three children; Joseph L. Jackson (1931-1998), Robert Jackson (?-1976) and Cathy Jackson (1945-1975, My mother), talked very little about her family other than she was born in Fall River, Mass, had lived at St. Vincent's Orphange in the 1920's and then lived with their unlce Patrick Healy in the 1930's.

I was hoping to locate information on William and/or connect with relatives that might still be around. It appears that the Fall River, Mass and RI are dominant areas that the family lived in.

Thanks so much,

Tiffinny Siciliano

My GG Grandfather, Thomas O'Hearn came from Canada about 1827 with his family who settled in WI. Do you know if your related to Thomas or Oliver O'Hearn? I would enjoy comparing information as their parents and early family are a major brick wall. My e-mail is: dkbeachfam at aol.com.

Hi,

I'm not sure about the Canadian connection but my family, O'Hearn, came to Michigan in the 1840's from County Offaly according to the tombstone in the Grand Rapids Cemetery. My brick wall is going back to Ireland where my ggggrandfather was born in 1776. I'd be happy to share some information.
At this time, I haven't any evidence that our O'Hearns came through Ontario. It appears, at this time, that they came directly into Louisiana. Our John O'Hearn was, according to census and obituaries, born in Louisiana in 1850-1852. My research on him has resulted more in eliminating possible parents and siblings rather than identifying same. If you have a Louisiana connection I would love to hear further from you.
This is a shot in the dark. Looking for Irish (1st generation Am., or native born?) girl named, possibly, Margaret O'Hearn/Ahearn. Married a Mr. Marteyn (could be any spelling) around 1870's, perhaps in WI. She had a set of twin daughters: Flora Margaret Marteyn and possibly Mary or Kit, born abt. 1879. They all lived on a farm in WI. for some time.

Daughter, Flora, was teacher at Walker School in Walker, MN, abt. 1903, when she married William "Harry" Usher there. They eventually moved to WA or CA, and their third child was my grandmother, Anna Hellen (Usher) Roberts.

Appreciate any light on the subject.
