We may have the wrong White family. I have a Johanna O'Keefe (1855/6 DOB) from Co. Cork marrying a Daniel White in NYC (1885 DOB) who was also from Ireland in 1876 and I have marriage certificate. I do not know the mother's name of Johanna, who was likely born around 1825 and in Ireland.

Re: Elizabeth O'keefe, b. 1763, Ireland

Jenny -- Elizabeth O'Keefe would be my great great great great grandmother. According to research I have received from a relative in Illinois, she was born in Johnstown, County Meath (same as Westmeath) Ireland. We are descendants of Elizabeth's grandson Matthew Corrigan (youngest of 5 children), who left Ireland in 1861 to follow his first love Mary Kelly to the United States. They had settled in Sagamon Illinois with their three children, and she died at age 30, six years later.

Information I found on the website http://frommesetc.com/index_Page2410.html ... maintained by Barbara Fromme Charlaon shows:

Daniel Corrigan was born in 1747 and lived near the village of Fore in County Westmeath, Ireland.

Elizabeth O’Keefe was born in 1763. She was from Johnstown, County Meath, Ireland. Daniel married Elizabeth and they had a son named John in 1786.

Daniel died in 1796 and Elizabeth died in 1823.

If you have any additional information, as I imagine you might since your original post was twelve years ago... I would appreciate it.
Richard O'Keefe, born around 1878, groom at the Curragh racecourse

Hi,

I'm trying to find some information about Richard O'Keefe and his family. He was born in 1878 in Co. Kilkenny, son of John O'Keefe. He supposedly worked at the Curragh racecourse and died as the result of a horse riding or horse training accident around the 1914-15 timeframe.

Richard married Bridget Fagan in 1903 in Dublin South and they had six children: Thomas, Evelyne, Mary, Nellie, Richard and Bridget (my wife's grandmother). Bridget Fagan was born 1877 in West Meath, daughter of John Fagan. Richard & Bridget's 1911 census return indicates the family was living in Murphystown at that time.

The family seems to have broken up following Richard's death. The daughters were placed in a convent home. We have little information beyond this point and would appreciate anything which could cast any light on the family, particularly about what happened to the mother.

Regards,
Chris

Looking for information on John O'Keefe. Believe he is the father of my ancestor ( Patrick O'Keefe 1776 ) who came to Ontario as part of Peter Robinson Settlers. I have no info on his family prior. This John O'keefe apparently was a " dramatist" working as an actor, writer, poet. Wrote comedies that played at Covent Garden in London. Belive he had a daughter ( Adelaide ) who was a novelist.

I have been questioning family members about these photos. I took that photo at Geraldine's funeral. I thought that it had been deleted off of my computer but I got lucky. It is one of my favorite photos. I am going to keep asking and see what I can come up with. I am not close to the Laemmle side of the family but my dad might know something. You are veryw elcome for the photo.

I noticed that you posted a picture of Geraldine (Gibson) and Ralph's wedding photograph (Geraldine was my grandfather (William F. Gibson's sister). That is one of the photograph's that I was able to view at the website of the funeral home of Geraldine's viewing. There were also several other photographs (especially one with Geraldine and her twin sister who died at a very early age from the measles, I think when she was age 4). Do you happen to know who in the family might have the original copies of these pictures. I would be so grateful to be able to have them posted in our family trees. Thank you for posting the picture that you do have posted.

We have started to research our family history when we read your message board we realize we have the same names on our family tree as you.

My mom is sitting here with me so i will write it as if she is talking to you.
According to our record Timothy O'Keefe married Mary O'Keefe we have no maiden name for Mary. (we have records they were born in Ireland) They were the parents of Estella O'Keefe who married EA Duvall. Which would be my grandparents. I am pretty sure that my dad an his parents lived in LaSalle because Estella O'Keefe and AE Duvall are buried in LaSalle Illinois. We have lived in LaSalle County all our lives.
We have most of the same matching names with some dates matching and some or off a little and we also have some names you not on your list and visa versa

Among the belongings of one of my Chicago TULLY relatives was a photograph identified only as "Mr. O'Keefe." He was a young man at the time of photograph, which I presume was taken in the 1890s by the von DIECK studio in Chicago. More info and photograph at http://afamilytapestry.blogspot.com/2011/09/last-of-mystery-...

Because of the collection this photo was found in, possible related surnames might be any of the following: Tully, McCaughey, Sullivan, Swanton, Ryan. These were family names related to the woman who owned this picture.

If anyone could help in identifying this O'KEEFE gentleman, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I am looking for information on my great-great grandfather, John O'Keefe. He left Ireland around 1854. His wife was Margaret Kirby O'Keefe. He had a son, John O'Keefe and a daughter Margaret O'Keefe Dwyer. According to family information, they may have lived in both/either Canada and/or along the Mississippi. Son John was born in Ireland and worked on a Mississippi riverboat before moving to Detroit around 1866. He married Mary Ellen Barry in Detroit in 1872. I have hit a total dead end.

Re: Cornelius O'Keefe - Jersey City NJ - Looking for living relatives!

Cornelius O'Keefe-might be my ggrand uncle. Did his brother, Daniel O'Keefe marry Margaret Curtin? They are my ggrandparents on my mother's side - Lester. I have limited knowledge of my mom's side as they moved out of Jersey City and went to Monmouth County, but retain some contact. I was ignorant of the part of family until recently.

fsk

Re: John O'Keefe and Ellen Mahanney of Mississippi

John & Ellen Mahanney's son, John, was my great-grandfather. His daughter, Alma Elizabeth O'Keefe, was my grandmother. I have found another family tree that shows John O'Keefe's father (John), grandfather (Patrick) & great-grandfather (Constantine).

Any more information would be appreciated!
