Samuel Olhausen (b 1875) married Viva
Maude Stone (1879-1948). Their daughter
Verla Lavera Olhausen (1905-1980) married
my first cousin Sherman Swanson "Tommy" Sorrell
(whose name appears as Sherman Thomas Sorrell
on the California Death Index, but the name I
gave is correct; Tommy was a nickname he used)
in 1941 in California.

Verla Olhausen from Iowa (b 1905)

I am looking for the parents of Verla Lavera Olhausen who was born in Iowa on November 15, 1905. She married Sherman
Swanson "Tommy" Sorrell in 1941 in California where she died in 1980 (San Bernardino). According to the California Death Index, her mother's maiden name was STONE.
I had her surname spelling as Olhansen, but in the California Death Index, it is Olhausen.

Thank you, Richard.
Sorry I have been so long in replying, but the system of notifying me seems to have been lost. I just got back to this message board today. My apologies again.
You did not give me your e-mail address, so here is mine (or rather my husband's): dyoung@televar.com
I have found my great grand-father in the Sac. Co., 1880 census, but the spelling was Olohusin as I interpreted it from very hard-to-read handwriting.
Thank you again for your help.
Pat

Thank you so very much, Sharon. What a Christmas greeting you gave!
Recently I did find my great-grandfather in the 1880 Census in Sac Co., IA. Would you believe that the spelling (as I made it out from some hard-to-read handwriting) was Olohusin?
Although I had tried many surname spellings (some of the ones you gave), I did not even think to try that one! Oh well, live and learn!
Thanks again. Pat
