My name is Reinhard Olt. I'v been born in Breitenbrunn, near Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany, the origin community of all OLT (not "Old"; this is another ancient family name). I'm in contact with Phil Olt (Email: philohio2001@yahoo.com), whom I had contacted during his visti to Europe som years ago in Vienna, where I live now.
I have many documents about the OLT-ancestors from Breitenbrunn and the villages around, some American OLT-members visited perhaps 25 years ago. Please tell it to all interested persons, that they can contact me by Email (r.olt@utanet.at; or: r.olt@faz.de) or by letter to my address:
Prof. Dr. Reinhard Olt
Fourniergasse 8
A-1130 Wien
Austria

Just read your message about Russell Crist in the 1920 Census. That was my father and Charlotte Crist was my mother. The spelling was messed up but it was certainly my parents. They were visiting my Olt grandparents. The other families visiting were also misspelled.

Are you researching the Crist families. I am also, (at beginner level). The birth date and death date are not that Russell Crist who was born in Indiana.

So this is kinda a shot in the dark. I am adopted. It was a closed adoption. From what I am told my mothers name is Marian Olts. I'm not even sure if thats her last name. She had 4 girls with a Tom Jones ( not sure if thats his last name either.) The had the last in 1982 in San Francisco CA. I know that Tom has since passed and that both of them have many MANY children. I would LOVE to hear if anyone has any info.
A side note: They both were very heavy with drugs.

I've just recently began looking to my family tree. I made it as far as my Grandfather's Grandfather (through the this website). Whose name is (or was) George John Olt (Born July 30, 1878?-Death January 27, 1946?). I've found his wife's family the Zumbrun, but have not been able to continue the Olt line.

If anyone has suggestions on how to go about finding further info or happens to know further information please let me know.

Thank You so Very Much!

Hi - I found a ship's passenger list with an Adam Olt listed. He sailed from Bremen to NYC and arrived July 8, 1887. He was 22 years old and a carpenter. My great-grandfather was Adam Olt as well, but he would have only been 19 years old at the time. I don't believe this is him. But if you would like a copy of the info I have, please let me know.

We do not have a birth certificate for Adam, although his death certificate says that he was born in Germany. The 1920 census says that Adam was born in NJ. He was born in 1869 and died in 1931. If anybody has any information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Hi! Are we talking about the same family. On my research, I got Adam Olt and Eve Orth children as Margaret, John, and Anna. Also Margaret was born on 6-23-1849 in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany. That would make Adam 14 years old.In Margaret obituary it states that she came to america at the age of 18.Also I got a copy of probate court where John became a citizen in 1874.It states that he resided 5 years last past in the United State and 1 year last past in Ohio. I never heard of Adam Olt Jr, but if he's in this line of family please let me know. Thanks, Gerry Basinger

I have a birth certificate for Adam Olt (Sr). His mother was Barbara Friedrich and his father was Leonhard Olt. It is in German and much of it is unclear. The birth year appears to be 1835. It is not an original. It was made here in the United states when they came to this country. The information refers to being born in (Hanborn) in (Gurova)in Hellen county in (Durmstart). parenthesis are what we are unsure of. My father is Walter Adam Olt Jr. who is the son of Walter Adam Olt (Sr.) who is the son of Adam Olt Jr. whose father is Adam Olt (Sr.). Johann and Augustus Olt were Adam Olt (Sr.'s) brothers. They came to this country in 1858. We want to know where in Germany Adam Olt was born.
