Hi, my father was George O'Melia. I have been to the house they grew up in Watervliet many times when I was young. Eleanor lived in the house until she died. My father moved from watervliet to Troy NY. My dad said that William was killed by a car as a child. My grandparents Norman and Catherine were married in Troy in 1909. Norman was a cable car driver. They attended St. Patick's Church.

Sharon

Her mother's name was Helen O'Melia. (She never met her). Her grandparents were Patrick and Ellen (she never met them either). I know your message is dated 13 years ago!! I hope you are still out there and reading this.
Please let me know if you are.
Sincerely, Sharon Clancy

Hello, I have been off and on the internet for several years. Sorry that it has taken this long to reply. My Henaghan history is a little clearer now. My grandfather was Michael J. Henaghan. Born in County Mayo, April 7,1879. According to his naturalization papers, he was from Mocarra (spelling?). I do know that he had a brother named Pat,
(My dad said Pat owned a store or a pub in Ireland). He (Michael)was a railroad conductor, and lived in Pittsburgh. I think he may have had a sister named Lizzie. After my grandmother(Marie O'Melia) died around 1918, my father John and his brothers Michael, Thomas and Robert went to live with the McNamara's ( relatives). Michael and Thomas became priests eventually, but not Robert. I think that we are related to the Boyle family also. I think thats all, that I know so far. If you know any info about Henaghans please let me know. Susie

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same people but it is a possibility. The dates would be right. Percy and Violet had two children, Ernest and Gladys. Ernest was my father. Were you able to track down any information. I would be very appreciative if you have. I can also provide details on my side of the family.
Mark.

Hi Lorraine... I have compiled 70 pages on my Judge Families of Newfoundland. Traditional names in the family over the past 200 years have been Peter Judge,Joseph Judge, Margaret Judge,as well as William ,and the obvious(Patrick,Mary,Bridget). I have always suspect the PA Judges are connected to the Nfld. Judges but can't so far prove it. The fact that yours also have Peter and Margaret adds to the idea.
I am also looking for an Honora Judge who was from Nfld.,supposedly born there in the mid-1800s,moved temporarily(with her sister Bridget) to USA,and then later Honora married and lived in Montreal until she died about 1920.
Do you know if you have any Peter Joseph Judge,Joseph Peter,William Patrick,Joseph Francis,Francis Joseph, and similar ?
Thanks.Ward. wardgreene@hotmail.com

I have a question about Pearl O'Melia...You may or may not be able to answer this. In the 1910 census Reginald is her only child at that time...but it states that she had given birth to 2 children at that point. It says that only one was living, but I have a great grandmother that was born in 1902 in Manhatten and put up for adoption. She said that she believed her mothers name was Pearl O'Malley (she never wrote it down, so we always assumed that was the spelling). I know this is a shot in the dark, but I won't know if I don't ask. Thanks for your time!
Jennifer

O'Melias of Bradford, England

We have a small group researching the James (1840) and Annie (1841) line out of Bradford, England. James and Annie had as many as thirteen children while living in Bradford. At least three of their sons Thomas, Joseph Henry, and Michael J. immigrated to the United States in the late 1800’s – early 1900’s and settled in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

If you have any information on this family or any other O’Melias from Bradford, England or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania we would like to hear from you. We have many (as yet) unconnected O’Melias and we are looking for more relatives and researchers with information on this family.

Ron Taylor
She was my Great Grandmother on my mothers side and I came to a dead end trying to research her further (her mother (Ann Campbell b?) married Thomas O'Melia b1859?). I am assuming they are one and the same - she married William Braham b1883 Sheffield.

Any information you may have would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Charlotte Langron-Brown
