Terrence T. "Terry" Omniewski, age 62,
passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012
at Abington Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 17, 1950,
the son of the late Jerome Omniewski and Ida (Jakubowski) Omniewski. He resided in Erie his entire life. A life long fan of Buddy Rich, Terry followed in his footsteps practicing endlessly and became a featured master drummer in a number of bands. He spent 10 years as a drummer on the road. Following his music career, Terry got his Master Plumber's license and opened Omni Plumbing, which he operated for 25 years. Terry took pride in his family and was a loving son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his mom, Ida Omniewski, two brothers, Tim and Dan Omniewski, Dan's wife, Rosemary, nieces, Erin Ruecklies of Phoenix, Ariz., and Emelia DeForce, of Woods Hole, Mass., a nephew, Nick Omniewski of Cambridge, Mass., and two grand-nephews, Max and Hans Ruecklies. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes and Crematory, LLP, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at St. George Church, 5145 Peach St., at 10 a.m. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. George Church, 5145 Peach St., Erie, PA 16509.
