Classification: Query
Surnames: ONG, CROSS, FEAST
Hello everyone.
I've known for a while now that i had the ONG family in my ancestry but it's only really tonight that I've tried to go back further.
The most recent ONG in my tree was Mary ONG. She married Philip CROSS in Ely, Cambridgeshire in 1790.
Mary was the 7th child of Thomas ONG (of Ely), and she was the 4th child of his second wife, Martha (née FEAST). Thomas' first wife had also been called Martha and she died in 1764. There had been an earlier Mary child but she died as an infant in 1769.
It looks like Mary ONG and her younger sister Martha were likely to be the only survivors of the ONG family in Ely.
If anyone can shed some light onto this name and it's location in a pre-1858 date.. then i'd love to hear from you.
There's a bit more ONG on my website - www.familytreeuk.co.uk/ong
thanks
Andrew
